The more I think about that Ajax win last night, the more I think it was brilliant. Why? Beating Juve on their own ground having gone a goal down. You would have thought that Juve, with their vast experience, would have tried every trick in the book to stop Ajax, in a similar fashion to teams in recent seasons falling for the dirty tricks of Ramos et al, but obviously the Juve defenders are not up to the quality of Sergio in that department.
Hang on a minute, that's not very fair. You can't condemn their ability for not be able to use dirty tricks. They were simply not good enough, they could not coup with Ajax slick (tad inspired) attack. It was a good game, and very little diving and faking was going on, a credit to the CL. And the better team won on the night.
Just saying it was a great performance by Ajax and they were not intimidated. So apart from Ronaldo taking a lump out of someone, good to hear it was a clean game. So a combination of pace, skill and intelligence is a lethal cocktail for any team to cope with. And as it is a team that has cost relatively little to assemble, compared with the remaining teams, Spurs apart, I suspect most on here and beyond would welcome Ajax winning the CL.
So often in ties like that, it does descend into a cheat fest. The reward is so big. But it didn't, and respect to Juve for conducting themselves in the right manner. And Ronny did get a yellow for a frustrated tackle at the end, but he is chasing history, and I respect his desire, it's one of his best attributes! He'll have to wait for next season for another crack at it. No point hating him, he'll be gone before you know it, and never replaced.
I don´t think I have ever hated him. We know he can be a little arrogant, has an abundance of gamesmanship but at the same time has terrific skill second to none, whilst his athleticism is just wonderful. For sure he will be missed but then someone else will take his place as the top star. Raheem Sterling?
The idiot who attacked Jack Grealish the other week was out yesterday (and not for one minute do I think the revenge is correct) was caught up with by Villa fans (allegedly) who then sliced his face in revenge.....not going to post the picture for obvious reasons......but even though he did wrong attacking Grealish he didn't deserve what they done to him. What is wrong with some people.
Frankfurt have activated a clause in Luka Jovic's loan deal to sign him permanently for €7m. Quite possibly the best transfer of all time. How often do you get the opportunity to make a €60m profit in a day? Of course they may well try to keep him for a season before selling
I keep hearing that one goal isn't enough tonight for Spurs. But for me, its not the goal that is overly important, its the no away goals conceded. That is what will get them through tonight.
I think Spurs look more organised without Kane. I can see what they are trying to do. If they keep it tight early on, then City will become very jittery about conceding. Would I bet on them.......hell no!
