    Similarly I find the formulaic stuff on the club website irritating- in any match report or special feature everyone has their tag, usually relating to a former club, e.g.:

    '"It was a good all-round team performance," remarked the signing from Aston Villa.'

    '... Joe Garner... The former Carlisle striker is available for his first Watford start against the Royals tomorrow as Dyche has a full squad to choose from for the trip.

    'He also has former Burnley striker Chris Iwelumo available for selection after his spell on the sidelines.'

    'The former Potter ...'

    'The former bloke who can play in the hole or out wide...'

    'The ex-Martian hard-man...'


    Ok, I made a few up, but even our manager is not just our manager, he is 'The former centre-half.'

    We could put out a team sheet using just these euphemisms.

    It was 4-4-2 mate, but he was including John Eustace in that praise. As JE plays as a defensive midfielder.

    Yes but it might of been a typing error. JE doesn't normally play as a Defensive Midfielder, does he?

    Nothing wrong with that your namesake got one as well and he`s a defender , So does Tiny and he`s a defender, Indeed if your players can go forward as long as someone covers the hole thats being left , It stretches the opponents defence a bit , especially if there using man to man marking!
