An unexpected win and a clean sheet has put us in a good position. Can we take advantage of it? Guardiola's an extremely experienced manager in European competition, so we'll have to be at our best to maintain our lead. A win, a draw or a narrow loss can see us through. We cannot sit back and hope for the best, though. Should Pochettino set the side up to counter or try to take the game to City? Aurier, Dier, Winks and Kane all out injured. Alli and Lamela are to be assessed. City have everyone fit, according to Guardiola. Neither side has any suspensions, somehow. Lineups for each side's last league game: Spurs: Lloris; Foyth, Sanchez, Vertonghen; Walker-Peters, Sissoko, Wanyama, Davies; Eriksen; Llorente, Moura. Subs: Gazzaniga, Trippier, Alderweireld, Rose, Marsh, Skipp, Son. League form: LDLLWW. City: Ederson; Walker, Kompany, Laporte, Mendy; De Bruyne, Gundogan; Sterling, D. Silva, Sane; Aguero. Subs: Muric, Danilo, Stones, Otamendi, B. Silva, Mahrez, Jesus. League form: WWWWWW. Referee: Cüneyt Çakır (TUR). Was the ref for our 1-0 win over Inter this season and our 3-1 win over Real in the last campaign. TV: BT Sport 2. Who would you like to see selected and who needs to be on the bench? Three or four at the back? Two up front, one leading the line or some sort of false nine nonsense? Throw an unexpected move or stick with what we know?
Hugo Trippier Toby Jan Rose Goat Wanyama Son Eriksen Lucas Llorente Subs: Gazza, Davies, Dave, KWP, Skipp, Alli, Lamela. Use Llorente to bully their defence and Son/Lucas to hit them on the counter. We can expect De Bruyne and Sane to start so the CMs will have their work cut out covering the channels. It's needs must with Vic but tbh he has looked sharp recently so I would use him to absorb the inevitable early pressure and then replace him with Alli when he tires. I had a glorious dream last night involving Sissoko scoring in the 92nd minute to give us the win on away goals. Sheets needed a change after that but it was worth it. Audere est Facere.
[QUOTE Sheets needed a change after that but it was worth it. Audere est Facere.[/QUOTE] Are you blaming me? I protest my innocence, sir!
Dear Kieran Trippier, If you doze off in the first ten minutes when a ball is played over the top, you'll be at Naan & Noodle on Tuesday Not as a customer...
In the last half hour, Citeh have proudly announced that they've offloaded the last of the tickets.......
So how do we play this? I'm not sure City need to be Gung Ho as everyone seems to be predicting in the media...they'll be well aware of the counter threat. However they don't know any other way to play. My concern for us is...if Moura starts...we don't have any real threat off the bench if required. I suppose if they go Gung Ho...we do too...if we sit deep to soak...we are in bother. Shall we dictate the pace? Im not too sure. I say Big Vic and The GOAT in the middle for this one and i trust our attack to get some chances
I'd definitely like us to go long to Llorente, at least part of the time - preferably from the off. He should have the beatingof their central defenders in the air and we have Sonny and Lucas to feed of the second ball, hopefully behind their defence. Going long prevents Hugo from ****ing up trying to play football and will defeat the press that they rely on. We need to do something to disrupt their normal game, especially with Winksy out.
We will get chances tonight it's a question of are we gonna be clinical enough to take em .no fecking about at the back either city will press us into mistakes maybe we need llorente as an outball otherwise it's gonna come straight back at us.COYS
Sounds like the best way forward to me Bri...I think Llorente is superb...clever. I hope our attackers show faith in him and pass him the ball. Found in the past that they kind of bypassed him because they all run head down. Saturday showed how he works best. Still a bit concerned about our options off the bench if both our speed merchants start.
