This goal should have stood, and because of **** refereeing decisions, crystal palace went down the other end and scored in the resulting break away please log in to view this image
Ye, refereeing will be **** for a long time to come until accountability and a controlled amount of technology is introduced. Ah well, we won. Conceding was down to poor defending again anyway, so that's the problem really.
Very good point. And Palace fans were bemoaning the referee's decisions in the 'build up' to our goals. Improve your marking if you want to know the real reason why we put three past you! Good thread.
agree, how many times have refereeing decisions gone against us this season, look at all the red cards we have had so far
Better then being a dodgy wum from an even dodgier team that have conceded 8 goals against us in the space of a couple of weeks. You should hang your head in shame (or go hide on a fishing trawler for the next year)...
It's not easy to referee Leeds and keep your job. It feels like the football league don't want to let Leeds out of the Championship as we are too important!! So we will keep getting poor refs and bad decitions. Plus if we get too close... we will start getting bans & point decuctions!!!
To be honest, we said that about league 1... But you only win titles with investment. To win a league or get promoted with peanuts is either pot luck, or it comes back to bite your arse the season after! If we had investment we would probably be able to compete for 1st or 2nd, but at this moment in time its decisons like that the change football matches and it did! I'm happy to enjoy the ride, but i won't be fleeced.. if that makes sense
i dont like the idea of video technology, when does it happen? because the game continues if the ball goes over the line and its not given, there could be a quick break away. Does the ref stop this from happening or what?
Video technology isn't the subject that should be discussed here, it's Goal Line Technology. They're two different things. Video Technology would mean that there would be a "Video Referee" that would be watching the game on a monitor and would have direct contact with the referee and would correct any wrong decisions he or is linesmen make. This could be free kicks, hand balls, penalties, offsides, throw-ins, the whole lot. Goal Line Technology would only be goals, and it would just mean that the referee would have a device that would basically say, "Goal" if the ball crosses the goal line. That means he knows straight away if it was a goal. There would be no break in play to check and then to find out it wasn't, which is an argument a lot of people use against it. Also, I wouldn't blame the officials, it was a very hard decision to make, I was pretty sure it didn't go in in my N6 ST seat at the game, and on the Football League Show I also didn't believe it went in, but on that picture it looks like it did.
if it was as simple as a watch like device saying goal if the ball crossed the line i would accept it. But if not it should not be part of the game
At the end of the day you picked up 3 points, you should have been dead and buried at half time as we were by far the better side in the first 45. But as usual with Palace we sat back in the 2nd half and invited you on to us. All in al a good game to watch, thought our away support was quality. Mid-table finish for both of us this year.
Yes we probably had the rub of the green on this occasion,we won without playing well. It's about time we had a bit of luck. Dodgy refereeing decisions have cost us dear so far,in total command at Ipswich only to go on & lose 2-1 arter a grossly unfair dismissal. Bright Wright,I understand you were fortunate to beat Coventry, 0-1 down with a minute to go. It happens-you played well against us on Saturday & came away with nothing. It's just the way it goes sometimes.
