A handful of PL matches as a caretaker and less than 50 matches at a lower league minnow as a 36 year old doesn't show much yet IMO.
Neither are hardly anything special though are they? I'd suggest first team experience at a lower level is better than managing a youth team.
Really? I mean sticking the nut on the opposition boss and being detained in the carpark by the rozzers is not something you see at Elite youth level.
When you have City and Chelsea who have great U23 teams and Everton finish top of the pile its only good.
It's not always the best indicator though because a lot of Citeh's and Chelsea's better youth players might be on loan at other clubs gaining senior experience. We could field a very strong Youth team ourselves if the better ones weren't out on loan and recently a few of them have been more involved with the first team and have not been playing for the U23s.
And the same goes with Everton. But with a title on the line the best side won, again. It’s like questioning U21 internationals when some are playing full internationals at that age group. Is it less of success for England’s age world champions? Not bad for a fat PE teacher though.
Yes, you had the best team of the players that were available so congratulations but I don't think that it is a title that Chelsea and Citeh covet too much I guess was my point.
Yeah, they would much prefer their players out on loan not winning titles and trophies. Winning becomes a habit, just like England’s age group world champions will learn.
Chelsea clearly targeted winning the PL2 over letting their players gain senior experience at other clubs...
Tell that to...... Beckham, Scholes, Butt, Neville Brothers etc.. Or say a Hudson Odoi FA cup youth level, Foden, Sancho and Gibbs white from the U17 WC winning squad. Easy to dismiss age foootbLl when the famed Southampton system isn’t competing
I was talking about much younger really tbf where less talented but more physically mature players are favoured to get the 'win' as that's where the primary focus is, rather than development.
If it’s such an achievement winning at U23s. Place a bet on Everton to win the Premiership (the big boys league) within 5 seasons. £100 should do it, seeing as you’re deluded.
