As we now know, Sebastian Vettel can seal his second world title in Singapore in a fortnight. But do you lot think he'll be able to pull it off. Remember, he didn't win this race last year. Here's how Vettel can do it. If Vettel wins the race, to secure the title he would need; Alonso to finish 4th or lower, 3rd for Alonso keeps the title "alive" Webber to finish 3rd or lower Button to finish 3rd or lower Hamilton needs to win the race to have any hope. Seems like it'll be difficult to wrap it up in singapore. It's normally warm there at this time of year, so that will suit Alonso and Ferrari, with their tyre temperature issues. My guess is it rolls on to Suzuka, which would be more fitting for Vettel, as it's in Japan where he made the world take notice of him (Fuji 2007)
In fairness its already wrapped up, he just needs to finish the odd race and let the others take points off each other. Congrats Vettel
He has really already won it but I do not think he will officially win it at Singapore, he is due a DNF surely.
My reason for him not "officially" winning it is that i can see an Alonso win on the Cards. He's only won 1 race this season, a bit of a low amount for a driver of his quality.
Its just a matter of time really, I am sure Red Bull are concentrating 100% on next years car now, and why not. Red Bull deserve massive praise for probably the best car ever made in F1, and Vettel for driving like a great champion.
I (partially) agree with you. I don't see the RB7 as one of the greats, i think the RB6 was better, but Vettel is driving like a champion.
I think Vettel will win it at Singapore. Even with hot temperatures and soft tyres, Singapore will be a nightmare for Ferrari. They have terrible mechanical grip and are still lacking a bit of downforce.
Don't rule Ferrari out especially when they have a driver like Fernando Alonso! I mean that was one of the best drives I have ever seen last year at Singapore. Cool, calm and relaxed and did not make a mistake the whole weekend,while Vettel maybe pushed a bit too hard in Qualifying.
I think the RB7 is better than the RB6, it might not of have the occasional dominant victories that the RB6 did like at Hungary or Barcelona, but it has much better reliability and is overall more dominant and very fast everywhere.
My sentiments exactly, this means it eases the pressure off him a bit and keeps the season going a bit longer.
Every good driver has a 'special' track. Singapore is Alonso's. Monza (or Suzuka) is Vettel's. In any case Vettel will clearly lose the championship this year and it is obscene to even think of Vettel sealing it.
Massive praise indeed, they have the best car now but best car ever made is a slight exaggeration. This is only their second dominant season in F1, compared to say Ferrari's, McLaren's and Williams' colourful pasts.
I think there is a good chance he will, at which point Bernie will begin coming out with knee jerk rule suggestions in order to make sure next years championship doesn't end with 5 races still to go, and probably 6 if Bahrain had been the usual Red Bull white wash. Now Bernie has made one of the global top major viewing audiences, the UK, pay to watch an entire season he must be getting worried about a quarter of all races in a season on being pointless. Overall from a championship perspective this has been one of the the dullest seasons since the mid Schumacher/Ferrari era and even less people will pay to watch an entire season at this rate. Red bull have done a great job but the chasing teams have been hampered by too many regulations, bans and rule changes for them to ever have quickly or effectively caught up and given us an interesting championship battle.
