Best Driver: Albon for me. To finish 10th starting from the pits in a completely rebuilt car is a huge achievement. Certainly bigger than what anyone else did this weekend. Worst Driver: Gasly. Seriously needs to up his game. Luckiest Driver: Hmm. Will return to this one. Unluckiest Driver: LeClerc - deserved that podium Best Rookie/New Driver: Albon. See above. Surely coming for that Gasly seat quickly if things carry on as they are. That said, rookies need to prove they are not one trick ponys Best Team: Merc Surprise Team: Was there a surprise this week? Worst Team: Williams Best Overtake: Genuinely struggling to remember any that were noteworthy Biggest Surprise: Albon in the points Most expected result: Ferrari team orders Funniest moment: LeClerc complaint about losing time Excuse of the weekend: None spring to mind Special Mention: Ham for sorting out his starts. Torro Rosso engineers for rebuilding Albon's car. Race Rating: 4/10 - I wasn't thrilled!
Best Driver: no driver really impressed up top but Albon drove a superb race for a rookie. Worst Driver: Vettel. Just poor again and outclassed by leclerc. How long will Ferrari back him as #1 Luckiest Driver: Unluckiest Driver: Norris getting torpedoed Best Rookie/New Driver: as above Albon. Best Team: Mercedes are the fastest car. I don't think we can kid ourselves that Ferrari are supposed to be better. Surprise Team: Williams were mixing it with other cars for 2/3 of the race. Worst Team: Haas race form is not looking good. Best Overtake: .... Biggest Surprise: Bottas pole. Most expected result: Mercedes 1-2 Funniest moment: Excuse of the weekend: Vettel claiming to be faster to get ahead but didn't get away. Special Mention: Gasly finally up in top 6 but still work to do. Race Rating: 2/10 not a memorable 1000th grand prix
Best Driver: No one outstanding but after messing up in practice Albon pulled it back to gain a point. Worst Driver: Kyvat is he going back to his old ways and crashing into others? Luckiest Driver: Riccy - The Renault made it to the end Unluckiest Driver: Sainz and Norris OK so McLaren wasn't too good here but for them both to be damaged so early was unlucky. Best Rookie/New Driver: Albon or maybe even Gasly Best Team: Merc Surprise Team: Racing Point - Perez managed to get some points - are they finding their feet after their cash injection? Worst Team: Hass - showed promise but just went backwards in race. Best Overtake: Didn't really see any decent battles that were not just DRS pases. Biggest Surprise: none Most expected result: Merc 1&2 Funniest moment: - saddest LeClerc doing as told but suggesting that he is faster Excuse of the weekend: Didn't see Kyvat interviewed Special Mention: Gasly - hope he is getting to grips with the car now Race Rating: 2/10
Best Driver: Albon hauled himself up through the placings from the pit-lane to score, no one else realy did anything Worst Driver: Kvyatt LuckiestDriver: hmmmm, Vettel? Unluckiest Driver: Norris Best Rookie/New Driver: Albon Best Team: Mercedes Surprise Team: Haas, for the wrong reason. Worst Team: Williams Best Overtake: Vettel on Leclerc Biggest Surprise: A renault finished Most expected result: A driver in the top 10 with a big gap making a last minute switch to softs Funniest moment: Leclerc on the radio Excuse of the weekend: Special Mention: Lewis, Kimi, Sergio, Max Race Rating: 3.5/10 Not much went on during the race,
Best Driver: Albon Worst Driver:Vettel . Given his experience , should not need the team to help him so early on . LuckiestDriver:Vette Unluckiest Driver: Hulk . Best Rookie/New Driver:Albon Best Team:Merc Surprise Team:Sauber , thought they would do better . Worst Team:Williams Best Overtake: Biggest Surprise: Ferrari introducing team orders ( NOT ) . Most expected result: there was a winner Funniest moment: CLC comments after Vettel went past Excuse of the weekend: Ferrari's reasons for THAT order Special Mention: Race Rating: 3/10
Best Driver: Albon Worst Driver: Kubica, but I fail to understand why he is still waiting for a steering wheel set up for his disability. Luckiest Driver: Vettel - persuading Ferrari he was faster (just like the Red Bull days). Unluckiest Driver: Sainz, I would have said Norris too but he did go off track and was coming back on so should have been wary. Best Rookie/New Driver: Albon Best Team: Merc Surprise Team: None surprised Worst Team: Ferrari, this isn't bias towards Le Clerc but Ferrari are their own worst enemy. Let them race and maybe they will develop their car better. Best Overtake: None stick in the mind. Biggest Surprise: none Most expected result: Merc's 1&2 Funniest moment: - Vettel with his claim he was faster. Excuse of the weekend: Vettel claiming to be faster and then putting in lap times that were 1/2 sec slower than Le Clerc. (guess he will say his tyres were tired).. Special Mention: Albon, the only stand out performance. Lewis because he always remembers to thank the team and those back at the factory, I reckon that counts for a lot - other drivers take note! Race Rating: 3/10 (not memorable in any way other than Ferrari messing up).

Best Driver: Albon, righted the wrong of Saturday with a mature drive. Still proving me wrong! Worst Driver: The Torpedo? Luckiest Driver: Vettel? Maybe even Gasly, such a huge gap between the top 3 and rest he can afford free pit stops and slow driving Unluckiest Driver: Lando and/or Sainz, not that McLaren had much to give this weekend Best Rookie/New Driver: Albon Best Team: Mercedes, faultless Surprise Team: Force India were improved this weekend Worst Team: Haas, Williams is a given but Haas were well off it this weekend Best Overtake: hahahahaha.... otherwise, Kimi Biggest Surprise: A Renault Finished Most expected result: A Renault Broke Down Funniest moment: <bandit> Excuse of the weekend: I'm being held up - Vettel Special Mention: Hamilton, well off it on Friday but turned it around. Kimi had a strong race, as did Perez Race Rating: 1.9/10 - Baaddddddd
I'm pretty much in agreement with most of these posts, especially the last by BLS. Best Driver: Can't really take it away from Albon, although Hamilton's improvement during the weekend was impressive. Oh yeah, and he won didn't he… Worst Driver: It has to be Kvyat for his error. Mis-judging his braking effectively took out both McLarens. LuckiestDriver: Vettel. -Because of the overwhelming support he's getting from his team (it's almost as embarrassing as Schumacher); and the vast amount of money he's getting for doing nothing particularly special, so far. Unluckiest Driver: Sainz and Norris. There is little worse than being punted off through no fault of your own on the opening lap. Also Leclerc for doing everything right but not being given a fair chance by his team. So far - and even right at the start of his Ferrari career - he's already more than matching Vettel. Ferrari are favouring the wrong man. I do not agree with Binotto's efforts to emulate Jean Todt's relationship with Schumacher. And finally, Hulkenberg. He just can't get a break, as it were… Best Rookie/New Driver: This obviously has to be Albon. Best Team: Mercedes. Surprise Team: Worst Team: I wasn't impressed by Haas. This time. Best Overtake: DRS. With this season's changes in aerodynamics actually allowing closer racing than in recent years, Beijing's over-generous calculations need some revision. Biggest Surprise: Gasly fastest lap. Most expected result: Ferrari. Funniest moment: Verstappen: so busy getting angry in Q3 that he missed his most important lap. Of all the current drivers, he's the one I find most difficult to sympathise with. Ferrari dropping points because of their eternal politicking. Excuse of the weekend: Ferrari. And Verstappen Special Mention: Leclerc. Race Rating: 3.03/10. Probably the least entertaining for quite a while.
Sometimes I wonder why does Verstappen believe the world must wait on him to complete his very slow preparation lap before he starts his quick lap? He also believes everyone should drive behind him in a race...nothing frustrates him more than when someone tries to overtake him, especially if they are trying to unlap themselves... Remember after the Ocon sage I said if it were Vettel, Hamilton, Kimi or one of the other big boys he would never have attacked them....realise he didnt even go to challenge Vettel or anybody after Q3? All he said was he is going to F...k them up from now onwards...well I hope the officials take note, but I doubt they will. His race weekend seems to be full of anger and threats once he doesnt get his way with people.
