Good Morning Everyone If ever a team has been demolished 1-0, it was Saturday evening at Elland Road. 28 shots on target, and triple the amount of shots on target later, Bielsa's lads had stretched their lead over the Blades to 3 points, albeit the Blades have a +3 better goal difference! Even Leeds villain Steve Bruce was complementary about Leeds:- "I couldn't fault our effort and endeavour but I don't think there is any question that the better team won. "The transformation in them in the last 12 months is there for everyone to see. They are a very good outfit and their fitness levels and the intensity they play at were too much for us today. "We couldn't cope with it at times and we had the goalkeeper to thank for keeping us in it." Since beating Leeds in mid March (and celebrating like they'd won the World Cup) Chris Wilder's men have won once, drawn twice and lost once. They will now be sweating over the fitness of leading scorer Billy Sharp who pick up an injury on Saturday against the boys from Bermondsey! Four games to go!!! After the game, goal scorer Jack Harrison was speaking to the press. “You see the style of play we have. It is not like the rest of the Championship teams,” said Harrison. “It will be interesting to see if we can continue that style of play in the Premier League as the standard is that much better,” he added Does he intend to stay at Elland Road next season? Phil Hay tweeted over the weekend that Bielsa sent 6 members of his back staff team to the Norwich v Wigan game:- “Someone who was at Wigan today tells me that just the six members of Bielsa’s backroom staff were sent to the draw with Norwich earlier. “I know Dean Saunders doesn’t rate it but the analysis he’s doing is off the scale.” Its safe to say that Hernandez is our player of the season once again, but who would be second and third?
Morning El, Philips second for me not sure on third. It's getting tense! I would like to smash Wigan by at least 3 and make back the goal difference
Morning all. I thought Wigan looked to be a well organised team and only a top class piece of finishing stopped them winning the game. It will not be easy if they play like that.
Morning all. Still think there may be twists ahead. Nothing easy about our next three games. Having said that Blunts are really struggling and can’t afford another slip up. Philips for Me Has Been outstanding
Morning all, great weekend of results for us. I think player of the season will be Pablo but I personally feel it’s very close between him and Phillips. If you’d asked before Christmas I think Phillips would have walked it but Pablo is getting more attention due to his match winning efforts as we’ve entered the run in. Third I’d probably say Alioski as he has been played in a few positions and he’s been pretty reliable.
Morning Ell, I wouldn't say 28 shots was a demolition of the Owls, it was 28 shots but only 6 on target, with 1 going in. 28 shots tells us we have a striker problem, trying to walk the ball into net for 75 to 80% of game is a to high percentage rate despite our position. Quite a few of those shots were from players trying shots instead of passing to others in a better position. We need to put more of those shots away, and Bamford ain't the one to do it. We need to start Roof and get him back in loop asp. Forest are quite capable of forcing a draw with Sheff U, beating the Blades would be harder. Considering the way the Blades have been playing last couple of games, and possibly without Sharpe, Forest could nick it with a late goal. Wednesday still have an outside chance of grabbing that 6th spot, highly unlikely considering Bristol City have a game in hand, however, they'll still be playing for it just incase. Considering the way Wednesday played against us, they are capable of beating Norwich, and have an incentive to do so; they'll be going all out to achieve it. I hope they do, but a draw seems likely. Like I said before, our destiny is in our hands, but more pressure is on the other 2 teams........
Good Morning to Matt and co from a sunny Bardsey On Thursday I went for a CT scan but I was very surprised when the phone rang and they told me I had to go to Aand E at St James.s as they had discovered an embulism on my right lung.Mo was very distressed so I made light of it but perhaps this was causing my shortage of breath So we went down at 10 oclock.I must say it was not busy perhaps they are watering the beer down in Leeds! I must say they were very attentive to me I had 2 lots of blood tests 2 ECG nad finally I was injected with waverin.Poor Mo will have to do this every day for a while til the clot is broken up/I wonder why they don't use lasers? We returned home at 4pm Now to give you my thoughts of the weekend I think the pressure as got to Sheff they have now dropped 4 points when in wining positions Against the Wall they were well on top but then suddenly fell back and invited them to attack which they did and infact were unlucky not to come away with a win Now Shef are going to have to cope without Sharp and Basham a big ask Yes it was a good weekend for us but Barton needs to be sine die for his behaviour at Barnsley,He must never but associated with football ever again
How can there be more pressure on Norwich. They’re four points ahead of us with a superior goal difference. I’d swop
Morning all Firstly the Blunts seem to have lost Billy Sharpe at least until the play offs, and maybe the Summer. They also have another player out for deffo in their next match who may be out for longer and they have a suspension for the next match. Harrison will be a Leeds player next season if Bielsa wants him, otherwise he goes back to Man City. I personally think he has something and he may be starting to show it? Contract talks will start for Phillips, Roofe and Clarke next month Chuffed to bits for Idaguchi who has made it back into the first team in Berlin after a nasty knee injury. He says he is looking forward to coming back to Leeds to resume his career? so one to look out for as he was a toss-up with Klich last Summer. Kalvin Phillips sent Lewis Baker a text congratulating him on his MOM performance for Reading. Apparently the difference at reading is down to Baker and they should survive now Anyone remember that greedy cnut Abel Hernandez who we were going to pay loads of cash for? Well he managed to score his 3rd goal of the season for his Russian outfit, but he only made the team 13 times out of 27 matches, so shows how the greedy twat let his money go to his head.
10 points from 4 games and we're promoted. Seems emminently achievable and eminently ****-up-able... Will be stepping off HMS Happy Clappy until the games to avoid complancency - we've won nothing yet and season doesn't start until Easter etc. Goal difference means that 3 point gap is really a 2 point gap. But a good weekend!!
Morning Mike, you must look after your self. Glad they spotted the embolism, and are treating it accordingly. Warfarin is commonly used to treat blood clots such as deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolisms. Make sure you're taking the meds!!! Sounds like you're in good hands with Mo
Correct Eire, but the way they've been playing last couple of games, 2 draws, scoring late in second half will have them thinking, Wigan scored early, Reading got a very late equaliser; 2 bottom of league teams. They'll want to be crowned Championship champions. We had an 11 point lead in L1, then Norwich over hauled us. 4 games to go, they'll now realise they can be caught........the race for top spot isn't over yet............neither is the race for second spot either.......
Morning all, so we need 10pts from 4 games!!! i dont think we shall need that, i think both Norwich and Sheff U are entering there sticky patch. Wilder is a one season pony and will struggle in this league next season i think, they will not win in the playoffs. Norwich dropped on with Pukki but they are not able to change there play....that was evident against Wigan, who incidentally need to be shown respect at LS11 on Friday. Hernandez, Philips and Alioski in that order. This last part of my post today maybe of concern to us all, as you all are aware i spent a lot of my time overseas, in that time i became good friends with an Argentinian guy who text me when we appointed Bielsa saying he is a top top manager and would get Leeds back into the big time, i personally had not heard of him like many others and like he said Bielsa is a master in tactics and Managing players to get the best out of them. He has informed me that Bielsa has payed for a hotel being built to house junior players for Newel Old Boys back in Argentina and rumours out there that he is being asked to come back, i hope it is not going to happen, fingers crossed.
Good morning Matt & all Harrison We'll need a better quality winger if we reach the premiership 2nd to Hernandez Jansson or Phillips
