Well the boys had me worried there for a while, I had a horrible feeling that we were going to come away from the game with nothing.

It didn't sound like a quality match on the radio but i'm sure someone will tell us if they know better.

Happy with the points. GOOOAAARRRNNN Stoke.

    Apone,

To be fair I think you had the best of decisions in the reverse fixture.

    .

We got the decisions at SoL - this must be one of those 'it all evens out' occasions. Gutted at the loss but not going to begrudge Stoke the win and I don't see that the fans should fall out over the result or the way teams chose to play.

I thought that Sunderland played some really nice football today, i have to admit having my head in my hands with some of the stuff we played.
But 3 points is what matters at the moment.

Take it on the chin, and move on mate <ok>

Some Mackem's have said we only hoof it, sometimes we do but just a couple of things re decisions. I was there today and I don't know about the Carew offside will wait till motd. But, how did Henderson stay on the pitch? And, the ONLY decision the ref MIGHT have gotten wrong was Carew's goal. Pennant and Etherington were HACKED down more than once. That, and the fact that the ref didn't take any further action I didn't agree with. But, neither of us are refs and let's move on now!

GOOD Luck for the rest, you will be fine.

P.S. I'm a Geordie by birth so my day's just gone from histeria to <cry> always look out for the Geordie boys result but hey, if it makes you feel better good on ya! <laugh> it's now FOUR Zip

Pretty good performance from the lads today. Lacklustre defending costing us again though which is a worry. Carew is an absolute beast up there. He was awesome, strong as an ox. I thought the midfield bar Etherington played well, Pennant was excellent, worked very hard, passed it nicely and put some cracking balls into the box. Rory and Deano did their job very well I thought.

Spot on Mithrand I thought Sunderland played very well, first half. We do NEED a couple of midfield player's to be quite honest have done for a while. Once Walters came on, we pressed much more, we should have done that first half. Gyan is quality and a real handfull.

Hoest oppinion, I would have settled for a pt apiece because we can and will play better than we did today, first half anyhow. Pennant and Etherington were immense for us and I said this the other day. So it proved, just and HOW glad I was to see that ball hit the net for the winner.

stoke played exactly like i expected them to and we couldn't handle it simple as. i'm desperately dissapointed and yes stoke play horrible football but they play that way most games so how they fill that stadium is a credit to their fans, when is delap going to retire stokies?

The coaching side think he can carry on into his early-mid fourties!!! He's extremely fit is Rory which is obvious what with all the charity bike rides he does. I hope a few years down the line he isn't still playing for us, he'd be a decent assistant manager or first team coach though I reckon.
