I can assure you that I am not excited by the findings, just reporting what the polls are saying. I see that there is another one that looks even worse, and the Telegraph is reporting that the government could lose 60 seats if there were a general election. Seeing as the Tory membership is now tiny, even the Libdems is larger, it makes little difference what reason they might have for not supporting them now. I can only assume that as you are a paid up member you will be voting for them, despite the fact that you seem to be saying they are not a Brexit party.

Will the Euro elections be a protest vote too?

The telegraph headline is just to warn the Tory leadership not to have a GE at this strange time. Once Brexit is secured the polls will return to normal with the Tories as the most popular option. Membership numbers count nothing in a GE scenario as the LibDem flops proved last time.

Yes, the Brexit parties will do well, hopefully they will cause havoc in the EU parliament along with the hoards of other new eurosceptics from around Europe.

You are a pretty useless political commentator... All you do is twist everything to your one stop story.. Very limited thinking really.. You should spread your wings and rise above party politics... Do you realise you are the ONLY regular poster on here who limits themselves in this way..?

You looking in the mirror again ?

I notice you’ve ignored my questions regarding your illegal employment practices, you claim to be an upholder of all things lawful , when it comes to others , yet yourself has no qualms in ignoring rules for self interest .
You are a perfect example of a tory , do as we say , not as we do . Hypocrisy of the highest level

Last night I heard of a cleaner being paid £15 an hour in St Albans, even more unfortunate.

So glad you've brought up the subject of membership numbers SH <laugh> Actually they make a difference in 3 ways - the first is that with low numbers you become overproportionally dependent on private sponsers to finance your campaign. The second is that you do not have the numbers on the streets for your ground campaign in the 30-40 marginals you have targetted. The third is that in council elections where you need a candidate for each ward you may not be able to cover them. In short the Tory Party of less than 100,000 is trying to do the same amount of work which was once done by 3 million. Also - what is the average age of those members, is it over 75 yet ?

May had a stunningly good local election result before her unfortunate last GE with similar party membership numbers. The Tories always come up with an election fighting fund that dwarfs Labour's. I have no doubt the anger in the vast ranks of Tory voters will be shown in both the local and European elections, if applicable.

You are making a big mistake in calling out Tory voters in the same way that you are calling out Tory members. Not the same animals at all. When you look at Tory voters, the polls show that they are not going to vote for them again. In the Tory members bubble, they will turn out providing they are supplied with a car to take them to the polling station. I know many Tories who see a much larger picture than the Brexit issue, and are quite disgusted at the way that money can be wasted on this, but do nothing when there is shown to be real need.

“ her unfortunate last GE “ , ! you are aware why she did that , polls gave her a twenty plus point lead when she called that , all that happened then , was the press banged her drum , a compliant bbc , but crucially electoral rules ensured Corbyn had same airtime and his message and manifesto gained traction , so much so that 20 point lead all but vanished in six weeks .
Of course i wouldn’t expect you to acknowledge any of that , but that’s what happened

Your bread queue ex- Tories are not representative of normal voters, it is your mistake to read otherwise. I would have thought you would give up on making predictions with your abysmal record on these threads.

Tories will return the back the only viable political party in the U.K, the Conservatives. Your promised 'middle way' MPs can still all fit in a large minibus, obviously being driven up a cul-de- sac.

Wrong, the reason she lost the huge support which won her a stunning victory in the local elections months before was a botched attempt to solve the long term care issue. This kept a large amount of traditional Tories at home. The Tories still managed to gain its largest vote share for decades due to the collapse in support for the anti- Brexit parties.

Cock wash, she ended up with no mand ate and hence the Brexit mess that her predecessor created has also destroyed her dubious stain on politics

I would suggest that your predictions about the date of leaving the EU are looking rather poor. I also remember your predictions before and your reaction after the last election. What was the majority going to be?

Which doesn't answer the question. Why is either rate 'unfortunate' ?
Some time ago, you complained that the NHS had plenty of money as it had offeed a very large sum to your daughter, I believe, to do a shift at a hospital, but she turned it down. Was it a cleaning job ? Was the rate offered 'unfortunate' ? If so, for whom ? Apart from being obsessed by money, you seem to have a very odd (narrow-minded,even totally selfish verging on hypocritical) view of the value of labour. A committed capitalist as you seem to be should applaud the fact that scarcity increases value. Of course, if you think the cleaner rate (s) is/are unfortunate, you could save yourself the anguish by doing it yourself. I'm sure you would do a good job.
