"Why Aren't We All Over This?" Watch For the past few days Arsenal have been strongly linked with PSG centre midfielder Christopher Nkunku, the latest in an ever-growing line of academy graduates who have a ton of potential but are doomed to be peripheral figures because their pornographically rich owners want success now rather than in two seasons ...so, yeah, why aren't be being linked with him? He's French of West African origin and his name is N'something, which makes him the standard player who should be a cheap squad option but signing him turns into a saga and offloading him seems impossible
The fact that Eriksen wastes such an important tool in our Armoury is quite tragic and no amount of assists makes up for it. Direct free kicks and corners are of massive importance. Get him off them both and stick Miguel Moura on dead balls ffs
It's very strange. He used to be the absolute king of the free kick. Teams would fear fouling us in certain areas because of it. Now, not so much.
Watching virtually every Snodgrass corner for the Spanners yesterday - they had 10 I think) right on the money was really frustrating.... If I recall last season Ben Davies started taking corners quite successfully. It looked like Trippier would add that option for free kicks and corners as well. We need to hope he finds his mojo again - and fast!
3 years and counting! Plus I think it's a bit tedious and predictable that he's been looking for the near post with his corners since day dot. Really should mix it up a bit...even I know what's coming so without a doubt so does the oppo.
Has everyone really forgotten our set pieces were garbage in the Redknapp era too? Bale, Modric, Bentley, all of them had good reputations for set pieces before joining us, none of them could beat the first man from a corner within six months of joining us Let me guess, their heads were turned by speculation too?
Eriksen has really got his work rate back from the pool match onwards. I know he has always got high number of km run but his defensive work, out muscling people etc seem back to his best. Think @humanbeingincroydon Is right when he spoke about Eriksen playing too much. The rest due to the international break and FA Cup games pre the pool match seems to have benefited him. Not disagreeing about his set pieces mind!
I Know It's The Sun Reporting It, But... ...they're reporting that we're reopening contract negotiations with Toby in order to remove the release clause (and, presumably, keep him beyond the end of next season)
That would be great...but honestly think he and Eriksen will leave unless A) we raise our offer and or B) they want to continue toplay at the new WHL
