If it hasn't been mentioned on Sky 402 is our game of the day 20:30. Just started Just noticed Fran got there 1st!
This is the problem with boufal. I think he has a bit of an attitude and it for that reason that i dont think he will make the cut here. Just my observation
Once a saints fan, always a saints fan but haven't been this pleased, this optimistic, this proud of saints for sometime. The better days have been back for a few months now but the R word (relegation) has been hanging over our heads. Now the R word (Ralph) has us playing with a new confidence and zest. I fncking love football. That table looks a whole lot better tonight. Just waiting on Liverpool to do their annual cock up an I'll be dancing on the ceiling. Up the ****ing saints
Elyounoussi has played like 7 games. I could pull up tons of clips of Boufal doing stupid things and say that Elyounoussi hasn't looked that bad. Boufal already wasn't playing under Hughes. And his falling out was due to his own **** attitude. As much as I dislike Hughes, I can't blame him or the club for sending Boufal away. Also, why does Boufal get a pass for his performance while playing under Hughes but Elyounoussi does not?
Still have fond memories of that win against Everton under Koeman with a midfield of JWP, Reed & Clasie - Waspish Not seen Reed play for so long, but hopefully he has improved on his passing. Think it was the part of his game which was not premier league level a couple of seasons ago
Sorry i've never seen Mo El do anything on the pitch that remotely tells me that he is PL quality. Boufal may or may not have a bad attitude (nobody knows this for sure) but he is a brave player and I can forgive someone that tries to make things happen more than a scared one that plays the safe percentage pass everytime.
Apparently your definition of "brave" differs from mine. Boufal quit on his team in the middle of an important match. I pick the player that wants to be here and fight for a place over the player who refuses to play and does not want to be here. Can attitudes change? Sure. Maybe Boufal just had a moment of anger and wishes he could take it back. And Elyounoussi can taught to play more aggressively if that is what Hasenhuttl wants or maybe just if he feels more comfortable. I think what Boufal really needed to do what pit his head down at Celta, play hard and show the club he us capable of playing within a system. Apparently, he hasn't been able to do that though he continues to flash moments of brilliance. Maybe Hasenhuttl can get Boufal straightened out. Or maybe not. Hoedt had all the goods to be really good, but IMO he had a bad attitude. I could live with the mistakes. But the problem was, he did not appear to be learning from them because he was convinced he was great. I suspect that is the real reason he was given the boot so quickly by Hassenhuttl. Ralph did not like his attitude.
Lol. How many Saints players have we said that about over the years and been proved wrong - eventually. Earlier this season, I seem to recall JWP, Romeu Vest and Maya were nowhere near Premiership quality. There's plenty more names to prove us wrong if we go back further. Remember all those players who came with us on back to back promotions who would never cut it in the Premier League. Schneiderlin, Fonte...
There were periods where Wolves were on top and they had lots of possession and our defence made more errors than I am used to seeing, but we had far more serious goal attempts. Could have had 4 or 5 goals.
Thing is with Mo El, I don't think that he is mentally cut out to be a PL player, i'll be more than happy if he proves me wrong though.
With Boufal I think that it was a culmination of frustration at hardly ever starting under Pellegrino that saw things come to a head when Hughes took over and never started him in his early matches. If he comes back and knuckles down under Ralph then I think that he could be an asset and a potential matchwinner but that is Ralph's call in the end. Unfortunately for Mo El, the fact that he barely gets any first team action now may be an indication of Ralph's future plans for him.
That's the thing with Ralph's team, we do have lots less possession than say Puel or Pellegrino's teams, but we do a hell of a lot more with it when we do have the ball now.
Also gave us leadership. After coming on shouted and pointed to others in a way not there before. Much underestimated by some.
