That was it then, League One here we come.

A much better second half and a good response from a poor first half. Should've had at least one more goal today but that's the story of the season.

I think perhaps Skusey has played his last game for us. Time to move the dead wood, I know he has his spells, but not forward looking enough.

    Agreed gaffer.
Skuse doesn't play forward enough for a midfielder. He had a lot of opportunities to pass or drive forward into space today but didn't take the chances. Even as a sitting midfielder you can still make forward plays.

Well I'm going to stay positive and look forward to getting more good results than bad next season.

Our style of play is improving, it's better to watch in patches but we do need to add a decent striker to the mix.

The abject failure of all of Hursts permanent signings is a damning indictment of the mis management of the Club this season, what a shameful balls up.

I honestly feel numbed by today.Never thought I’d see us drop down to the Third tier but I’m positive things will improve from here on in.

    I’m with you Warky-Ipswich ‘til I die.

Disgrace. It’s been a long time coming, and many of us sadly saw this coming back in late 2018, but we need to call this relegation what it is - a disgrace.

How this squad has been allowed to stagnant and decline, to the point where it’s almost devoid of quality and self-assurance, is an embarrassment and a shame. And for those supporters who are perversely celebrating relegation, those people need to take a long, hard look at themselves. Some of the posts on TWTD are frankly pathetic.

This club, once a pleasing, successful, upwardly-mobile, and family-friendly side is now a tired, clapped out boxer. And a boxer that has taken far too many hits over recent years.

Marcus Evans - give this club the investment it’s long been crying out for and provide the appropriate funds to refresh this squad - or sell the club to whoever wants it. Quite honestly the worst owner we’ve had in our history. A man that has continuously made the wrong decisions, a man that has consistently looked to cut costs and cash in on assets over the past several years, and an owner who has relegated this proud club.

    Marcus Evans, sell this club.

For those that criticised Mick McCarthy you are now eating your words - you should be careful what you wish for.

They’re good friends. Mick had been a frequent guest on the show when he was in between jobs. Mick is seen as a “character” and therefore has plenty of defenders in the national media. Sadly, its indicative of the quality of mainstream football punditry these days - bitter, middle-aged white men who defend the select group of managers in the media (ditto Redknapp, Pulis, Pardew etc).

Blaming our relegation on Mick’s resignation demonstrates the predictable narrow-mindedness and complete lack of research which constitutes lower-league punditry. And feeds into that new football buzzword - narrative.

I just hope for all our sakes we can leave the last 10 years in the past and finally move on with positivity, momentum and energy. Next week marks ten years since Magilton was sacked and nobody involved with the club over that time comes out of it with any credit as far as I'm concerned but now is an opportunity for a new beginning.

Agree with the above comments about Jeff Sterling. I did have a lot of time for him - maybe he should be forced to pay to watch Mccarthy’s Team for 5 years as we had to. Nothing against him personally but I couldn’t bare watching the negative football
