The specimen charge the US has filed against him is a hook to try and persuade the UK to extradite him. I’ve little doubt that if and when the US does manage to get him over there, they’ll throw the book at him. They’ll hit him with espionage charges and anything else they can think of. He’ll end up a few thousand years in jail - typical American style.

The US wants revenge for his exposing their illegal shenanigans, and making them look foolish by exposing the leaks in their internal security.

THE ASSANGE ARREST IS A WARNING FROM HISTORY.

    John Pilger

That this outrage happened in the heart of London, in the land of Magna Carta, ought to shame and anger all who fear for "democratic" societies. Assange is a political refugee protected by international law, the recipient of asylum under a strict covenant to which Britain is a signatory. The United Nations made this clear in the legal ruling of its Working Party on Arbitrary Detention.

But to hell with that. Let the thugs go in. Directed by the quasi fascists in Trump's Washington, in league with Ecuador's Lenin Moreno, a Latin American Judas and liar seeking to disguise his rancid regime, the British elite abandoned its last imperial myth: that of fairness and justice.

Imagine Tony Blair dragged from his multi-million pound Georgian home in Connaught Square, London, in handcuffs, for onward dispatch to the dock in The Hague. By the standard of Nuremberg, Blair's "paramount crime" is the deaths of a million Iraqis. Assange's crime is journalism: holding the rapacious to account, exposing their lies and empowering people all over the world with truth.

The shocking arrest of Assange carries a warning for all who, as Oscar Wilde wrote, "sew the seeds of discontent [without which] there would be no advance towards civilisation". The warning is explicit towards journalists. What happened to the founder and editor of WikiLeaks can happen to you on a newspaper, you in a TV studio, you on radio, you running a podcast.

Assange's principal media tormentor, the Guardian, a collaborator with the secret state, displayed its nervousness this week with an editorial that scaled new weasel heights. The Guardian has exploited the work of Assange and WikiLeaks in what its previous editor called "the greatest scoop of the last 30 years". The paper creamed off WikiLeaks' revelations and claimed the accolades and riches that came with them.

I've hardly ever followed the story tbph, I tend to find espionage pretty boring, but when he is rattling the cages of the Americans and people like Hilary make comment immediately on his arrest, I start taking note a bit more for the amusement factor.

My view is he did the Americans a favour, if he seriously put lives at risk as they claim, they should be employing the guy, not sending him to prison, surely. Ok, he was just one of many but if he or they had the ability to hack intelligence then the Russians and Chinese probably already know this stuff, whatever it is he leaked anyway.

The only reason the Clinton's are squirming is because they have something to hide.

America has committed some of the biggest humanity crimes in history, can't we just fook them off for once and say you ain't having him, after all he is small fry, compared to the atrocities the land of the free have committed. Just give him to the Swedes, under condition any extradition has to be back to the UK.

I think part of your problem as i see it, you assume how other people think all the time. If someone challenges your view, you see it as them thinking in a specific way - yet that is not the case, a lot of the time, certainly when i challenge or become contrary, i'm merely testing the views rather than forming or having formed an opinion. Debating is not about right or wrong, it's about education from the responses people give and not being tunnelled visioned like yourself.

Paint a picture and see how people respond to the artwork that is displayed.

It don't take a rocket science or some fruit loop from Wales, who is confused over his own allegience between Swansea and Cardiff, to work out that many American wars were based on bullshitte. It don't take Einstein to work out that when someone spouts how peaceful they are all the time it has to be propoganda to appeal to the masses but are not actaully fooling anyone.

The difference these days is we all have access to many forms of knowing what is going on in the world, the only real difference between you and them is they might not believe the royal family are all a bunch of lizards, nor do they fall in to the port hole called Icke.

There is a platform for people such as yourself, it's called Speakers Corner, although i expect there may be some Lizard conspiracy in your head to prevent you entering the Capital City.

You're just some sad little fook who probably once belonged to a hooligan gang. I guess you got confused one day and shouted Cardiff on the Swansea North Bank. As a result you had your head kicked across the Vetch Field and now believe in Lizards and Icke. #TrueStory

    <laugh> What a pretentious load of ****!
Pilger loves war criminals, as long as they're not in NATO.
It's no coincidence that he works for RT and thinks that Slobodan Milosovic was a top bloke.
