Then hand your nephew in as a “lost child” at reception and take your nipper to wave the flag instead. Teach the other little toad a bloody good lesson: Uncles are cool and ALWAYS get first dibs on football stuff.
Appreciated. I understand what you are saying - didn't read the headline. The academic article about set pieces is mind blowing. There was an excellent book that came out about ten years ago called "Why England lose and other football statistics explained" which was really entertaining in the way that it looked at statistics in relation to the game , a lot of which appertains to probabilities and chance theories. However, the authors did tackle the subject with a degree of humour which made the book an interesting read. There is a similar issue with the geometry associated with crossing which always sprang to mind whenever Cedric played. I never understand why attacking teams often cross too early as the ball will have less far to travel if crossed from the goal line as opposed to travelling along the hypotenuse of a triangle is crossed from outside the penalty area. The latter is much easier to defend and the former easier to attack. However, back in the 1990s the attention seemed to be on getting the ball in to the box earlier as this was seen as being an advantage hence the preference for a lot of teams to play long ball. It is interesting to see how this has evolved in football because I now feel the best footballing teams still look towards getting the ball in to the opposition half quicker and for greater periods in the game albeit this is now done by pressing as opposed to lancing the ball forward.
Wolves are very good, if anything their points total are a bit below how well they have done. On the other hand they might be trying as hard as possible to not accidentally qualify for the Europa League next season. I am intrigued about how they will do next season. Maybe it will be a good game.
Though I'd prefer 3, I'd be happy for a point in all honesty. I like Wolves, bloody good side this season.
Should be a good matchup today. Any points are good points for us right now as they keep raising that bar for Cardiff.
I`m in Boston for the marathon on Monday. That means kick off is at, err, 10am. Odd being glued to the laptop for football coverage in the morning. Damned inconsiderate of the Yanks not to use proper time, like us.
If we win and results go our way we could be as good as safe. If we lose and results go against us it's going to look scary. Big day. Wolves can be very very good, they have a lot of quality. Hopefully we're playing them on one of their off days because if they are on it we will do very well to get a point.
