A Hail Mary of an each way double in the Scottish Champion Hurdle and Scottish National. Equus Amadeus and Red Infantry. 33/1 and 25/1.
Young Rascal to get Newbury off to a good start, only defeat was in the Derby and if he has strengthened up as a 4yo should win this. He is 3 from 3 at Newbury.
Eminent worth a bet e/w at 14/1 against Winx, hes a bit better than her usual opposition and should be spot on after a good first run over there, looks nailed on for a place.
Sticking with the jumps today and hope to see a Skelton double with Azzuri (1.25) and Nube Negra (2.25) followed by Chic Name winning the Scottish National, distance and ground shouldn’t be a problem for him and this is the time of year he does his winning.
Did someone put up Arthur’s Gift for the Midlands National on here a few weeks ago? Rings a bell. Running in the Scottish National, I’ll have a go. Good luck gents. Have a good weekend
Morning all ..just 2 bets in the scottish national Cloth Cap 14/1 each way 5 places. Unexposed horse on the up and a convincing victory at Catterick last time showed plenty of speed and stamina whilst still looking relatively fresh jumping the last. The form of that race has worked out well with the 4th coming out to win next time and the 3rd recording back to back victories since. He could have plenty more to offer off a mark of 134 against plenty of exposed rivals. Of the others I quite like Sizing Condelco at 50/1 each way 5 places so backed him too. Finished 8th in race last season and he might run a big race at a massive price. Good luck all...
Is today the day for Sir Barney's 'Two Sams' in the 4.30 at Bangor? Form and yard form not inspiring, but someone's backing it, currently blue on odds checker.

Monarch Of Egypt runs in the opener and the son of American Pharoah is odds on and already favourite for the Coventry Stakes at Ascot. 25/1 and the only horse quoted for the Royal Ascot 6F race, he starts out at 5F today. Later on Le Brivido is uneasy in the betting for the Gladness, where Imaging is the one being supported. Le Brivido won the Jersey Stakes as a 3YO and Coolmore purchased a half share in the horse who missed his other races that season due to injury. I had backed him for the Queen Anne ante-post after hearing he was due to make his comeback but was astonished to see him over 6F in the Abernant on his return to action. He was woefully outpaced behind Brando and then not seen again. 6/4 last night, he has enough to prove switched from Fabre to O'Brien but on the other hand Imaging is slightly short of top company for me and Romanised seemed to fluke the Irish 2000 Guineas, with nothing he did before, or after, that race matching his alleged arrival into the big time. Bolger's horses look a wee bit mediocre to me and the trainer has had it lean at the top level for a while now. With Imaging edging favourite now at 5/2, I took a chance on Le Brivido at 11/4 in the hope that he has that shade of class he promised when second in the French 2000 Guineas and landed the Jersey cosily. In the Fred Darling I did Dancing Vega earlier in the week at 7/2 and have Exec Chef at 8/1 in the Spring Cup. Hello Youmzain did me a good turn in France last season but I wonder if he's a sprinter in the making, so went for Mohaather at 7/2 because he looks like he could be Tregonning's best 3YO for a while. Young Rascal was tempting but I think he's short enough now with the Haggas stable not really firing yet. A guy told me on Thursday that he was opposing Defoe because he felt several of Varian's have been running like they needed the race. 4.00 Naas Le Brivido 11/4 2.40 New Mohaather 7/2 2.10 New Dancing Vega 3.15 New Exec Chef 8/1 Coventry Stakes Monarch Of Egypt 25/1 for the crack.
Whether she does or not, I can only say “thank goodness it is a handicap”. If this were, say, a Grade 2 off level weights it would be a 4 or 5 runner affair. But as a handicap it is a tremendous, wide-open affair. For what it’s worth, I think Verdrana Blue will hose up
I posted a couple of weeks ago about the relative treatment of Forest Bihan and Vosne Romanee in a handicap chase at Aintree. Both were non-runners that day and both go in the opener at Ayr and I can see them both involved. Each way on both and reverse forecast.
Hard looking day at Ayr although the weather is decent up here this week. Mcgroarty in the first Ibis Du Rheu Brain Power - Back to better ground Ballwood Cloth Cap and Doing Fine in the national
