Often the best players will finish up playing for the best club sides (more so now given that those clubs are invariably among the wealthiest too). So it's unusual for a top player to finish their career without club honours, but there will always be exceptions. International honours are a different thing entirely. Messi, Ronaldo, Suarez, Bale, Kane, Lewandowski - the list could go on and on - have one Euro Championship between them.
We've been fined £5k by UEFA for that twat running on the pitch, apparently. I hope the club sue him for it. Was he just some random moron?
Its more about the money than the players that Gareth played with - Remember the phrase we sold Elvis and signed the Beatles? But I will also defend the players that were with us in Gareths last season - 4 of whom have played for us this season and at least 5 of whom I would be very happy with as options for this season - Walker, Parker, Lennon, Sigurdsson and Defoe, that only leaves Dawson (from a starting XI) who we all loved but would accept that he wasn't Toby!
There were plenty around, but most of them didn't have a lot to do. Probably got taken by surprise. One made a mad dash across the pitch after the pillock had been ushered off and got wahayed by the crowd as he went!
If infected with jobsworth Nazi syndrome, probably were harrassing some old biddy for standing up in a seated only section.
Yeah I think so. The DH of about 7 years ago would've lobbed my beer can/ bottle at his head when he was being escorted outside the stadium by police after the match. Sometimes I'm pretty annoyed that I actually decided to grow up.
Tottenham have been charged by Uefa after a spectator ran on to the pitch during their Champions League win over Manchester City on Tuesday. The case will be dealt with by European football's governing body on 16 May.
Fair play to you squire. That was brutal but you took it on the chin. ...unless that really WAS you rushing to hug Delph?!
Walker was a whining, diving twat from the first whistle to the final one...really disappointed with his pathetic gamesmanship...thought he was better than that ****.
I posted about him a few pages back...he looked seriously rattled by the occasion. Remniscent of Kyle Circa 2013 throughout the evening, constantly misplacing passes and getting caught out of position. All it lacked was a comedy own goal.
