I pointed out the other day he has played exactly 49 games for the club. Read into that what you will.
I can't imagine we've ever dropped as many points from winning positions as we have this season. I wouldn't be surprised if we take the over all historic record in the epl era.. 23 so far. Wow. 23.
I still think we will win the three home fixtures and nicking a point away at Newcastle. Theoretically, I think we should be targeting 43 points. If Wolves are as much as a s footballing side as Saints, I think that will be to our benefit whilst a more negative style of football from the opposition should make it more awkward. Not sure where Godders is coming from as I have been suggesting finishing on 43 points for the last few weeks. Logic is suggesting that Cardiff will go down but I still think Cardiff have a shock in store somewhere. If they fail to get ,maximum points against Burnley and Brighton, they could still pick up points against Place and Fulham. I am not sure their relegation will be finally resolved by Tuesday. The maximum I feel they can get is 12 points from the remaining games - this equates to a 40% enhancement in points above their current total. This season, I think survival will require more than 40 points. If Cardiff lose 3 of their remaining games, this is sufficient to get them relegated. We will finish above them bit I feel the 5 point gap will be eroded.
If (big if) we win on Saturday and they lose, there will be an 8 point gap - 9 with goal difference. That will be enough as they will need to win 3 of their last 5 and hope we don't bother turning up again.
Surely, if Man City win the FA Cup then 7th place goes into the Europa League. That seems like a reasonable amount of motivation for them
