Chelsea or Arsenal are looking favourites to win the Europa so it's vital we finish third in the table.

I'm still fuming from the Napoli game. This season, Arsenal have one of the best conversion rates in PL history (relative to the chances we create), yet we missed countless chances in a potential season-defining game. Only scored twice in a game where we should have scored 4 or 5 at the bare minimum.

Napoli were absolutely diabolical. They don't deserve to be in with a shout of getting through; the tie should be finished.

I hope I feel better about it tomorrow because right now I'm so ****ing pissed off.

Doesn't matter, unless another English team finishes outside the top four and also wins the Champions League.
That only leaves Utd and it would require the Europa League winner to finish outside the top four, too.
    Not impossible, but rather unlikely.

He also missed a sitter from eight-yards that would have put us 3-0 up and potentially killed the tie off.
If that shocking miss costs us in the second leg, I want his head on a stick.
    Bottling prick.

I watched it and Napoli were absolutely atrocious. Juve apart, the Italian league is poor but they were dreadful....Their fans were as silent as Citeh's too.

Fair point <laugh> but man, that miss literally sums up his Arsenal career. Flashes of brilliance followed by moments of pure idiocy.

I don't think anyone would want to buy Koulibaly based on that performance. He didn't have a good game at all.

I used to really rate Insigne and granted, he was just coming back from injury...but he stunk the place out.

Both him and Mertens were terrible. Expected so much more from them.

I'm also surprised Milik came on the field so late in the game, considering he's Napoli's top goalscorer this season.

Ah well, a two-goal cushion and a clean sheet. Guess I would have taken that beforehand.

Napoli fallen away lately. Challenging Juventus at one time...….

It's a good result but you should have had this tie done. It's unlikely that they'll be as bad again at home and your away form....

I'm not a huge fan of Ancellotti these days. Yes,of course, he's won everything multiple times with huge clubs but he looks increasingly like an anacronism. He's got more than a touch of late career LVG about him...without the sado-masochistic references.

Yeah, completely agree this tie should be over with. It's why I'm so frustrated. If they get an early goal next week, all of a sudden, it's looking ominous for us...

Still though, I am hoping (rather than expecting) their attackers will be just as useless in the second leg.

They couldn't handle our pace and physicality tonight. I hope that will still be the case next week.

We have 8 clean sheets in 11 Europa League games, compared to 7 from 32 in the Prem. Typical from us.

Agree about Ancelotti too. His stock has fallen massively and hasn't done much since winning the CL with Madrid. Sure he won a Bundesliga title with Bayern, but that's the minimum expectation for them when their resources dwarf every other German club. I think he will be retiring very soon. That breed of manager are gradually withering away...

They drew 1-1 at home to 13th place Genoa on the weekend. Genoa were down to 10-men for 65 minutes...

We can surely take some encouragement from that.

Would you explain that outburst please Brunel? I was being serious, no reverse psychology or any other bullshit as you call it. I genuinely cannot see you falling against Napoli and RCL is on my ignore list so I haven't a clue what you're blabbing about.
