No trophies but 3 successive top 3 finishes for the first time in my lifetime (54 years), 3 successive qualifications for the champions league and whether we as fans like it or not, the club will see that as a being better in the long term than winning one cup (FA or league) in those 3 seasons.

 

Only if his ankle injuries became so frequent that he was on the treatment table more than playing. At that point you may have to think about cashing in on him whilst you still can.

Whether we like it or not it looks like we may have £100m plus to spend this summer if Toby and Eriksen leave. Our scouts need to up their game so we don't blow it.

 

How can you compare Bale then with the players he had around him with Kane now and the players he has around him?

 

Because only five players have out scored Kane since he broke through into the first team - Messi, Ronaldo, Lewandowski, Cavani and Suarez. None of whom would leave their respective clubs to join us, therefore anyone we signed would be of inferior quality.

All those are going to only get worse accept for the one in their 20's who cost us bugger all. And buy someone like Jansen, Llorente, Pavluchenko or Soldado for millions....... Right!

If you're going to use trophies as a barometer of a player's ability, then you have to say Guivarc'h was better than Cruyff - before wondering why a lot of Newcastle fans are laughing at you
