A decent sponsorship deal should pay 50% plus of stadium repayments. Might be up to 200M a year to spend on the playing staff.

Two games in, and new WHL acoustics watch.

Attendees have said the crowd noise is loud.

It sounded loud on each broadcast stream I have watched
(and I typically have the volume low) .

Both sets of match commentators remarked on how loud
the crowd noise was to them.

IMHO that open question on new WHL can be marked as "closed" .

Didn't you hear? The new hack Narrative is that our pitch is causing injuries

Yes, it was definitely the pitch that did Harry ankle last night and nothing to do with Fabian Delph...

    1. One for the "hack watch" article.

    2. You need 5 games of data where Kane is not playing, before
you can make such a claim. ;)

It was very loud, no doubts. It was also constantly noisy. I was in Row 10 of the SS - kind of on the East line of the penalty box, so right in the safe seating/standing area. I heard the Citeh fans twice for about 5 seconds before they were drowned out.

That's what the standing area does. It gives a concentrated group the ability to really get stuck in and it's why we've taken to the new place immediately. There's a home end and it's properly atmospheric, already. It's going to be a great advantage in the years ahead.

Hats off to all concerned the accoustics seem great. No distortion or rolling around the bowl apparent from my location -

@remembercolinlee - how's it been in the North Stand?

@PowerSpurs - ditto with The East?

    @PleaseNotPoll ditto with the West?

Unfortunately, further back in the SS things are not so rosy. Reports of friction between the Singing Standing fans and those who want to sit. It's difficult but if you're in the South Stand to sit and watch, you are likely to be disappointed. That's just the way it is.

    Very good last night.
There were patches of nervousness against Palace and the start of the second half was a bit odd, though.
City received a couple of rounds of "we forgot that you were here" and they really did deserved it. Very quiet.

There's quite a lot of standing where I am, but it's not constant. No arguments so far and the stewards haven't said anything.
Hopefully people will move about a little in the close season and the club will be helpful in getting season ticket holders to the right areas.
Safe Standing isn't something that the Premier League currently allows, but it would make things a hell of a lot easier.

The Park Lane should be for people that want to make a constant wall of sound and stand a lot.
I suspect that the Paxton's going to become something of a mirror to it, as the singing seems to be starting off from both ends.
The Park Lane/Shelfside song has already shifted into Park Lane/Paxton quite substantially.

The South Stand sounds very loud from my seat which is in row 14 approx at the centre circle. From where I'm sitting 'We are the shelf side" sounds loud too and a lot of people are joining in. I didn't notice any chanting from the North Stand though.

Someone a few rows in front complained to the stewards about the amount of swearing. I think because someone was quite offensive to a guy who was blocking the view while looking in the wrong place for his seat.

Was in the North Stand for the palace match and that was a lot noisier thsn the old paxton.

Yesterday we were at the "paxton" end of the east stand (shelf) unp high. Was very noisey throughout. Me and the teen beast would start up snd almost everyone joined in...could hear the south stand loud and clear...it was awesome.
Genuinely think the atmosphere threw some of the city players.

Sad that Judas or Charlie Adam are not playing in the PL,
as the final audio test would be new WHL going full Booodison Park. :)

From some Spammers on KUMB about the new stadium...

"That Stadium is the Dogs dangly bits."

"...they have settled in straight away. Fans close to the pitch, almost a good old fashioned stadium but with all the mod cons. Lucky sods."

"I went last night, a friend had a bunch of tickets in the corporate section. It's immense and ****s on ours in every way imaginable. So jealous"

"I saw it on TV for the 1st time last night. That massive stand that's just 1 tier , behind the goal is amazing. The whole stadium looks great..."

I watched a City Vlog where the bloke doing it was really positive but everyone else just slagged it. Northerners.......<laugh>

The City fans that I spoke to on the way home yesterday were all very impressed. No prompting, lots of praise.

No bloody USB charge points. My only criticism apart from running out of beer at half time and chilling the bitter.

Nevertheless, why do they try to make british beer look and taste like larger, should I blame the EU?

We've been inspired by the Dortmund Wall...apart from stabbing people I'd like us to adopt the Turks 'welcome to Hell' mantra.

Our away fans are constantly noisy. As home fans I/we need to be aiming for this. The safe standing/seating area at the front of the SS was like this on Tuesday and the rest of the stadium wanted to join in.

That can't just be for big nights if we want to move forward and make the place a fortress that gets points as well as cash. The club have delivered the tools, we need to finish the job.

Saturday is going to be a tough one. We're still getting settled in, it's the early kick off, so everyone's still half asleep and Huddersfield aren't the biggest draw. An early goal would do wonders. There's a good number of tickets available on the Exchange, but I'm prepping for my daughter's 18th birthday party and banned from going.

Was both surprised and pleased to hear the "We're the Paxton" chants
at both games.it suggests that if you don't let the more vocal supporters
congregate too much to sections as was the case in old WHL, that the
crowd noise will be good all round.

So who can get some "We're the west side / High Rd" chants going next ?? :)

I am out of money so can't do this one but there appears to be around 200 seats (spread out) on sale. They have a red circle round them instead of being just blue dots so I assume that they are season ticket holders trying to sell on their tickets...but they all appear to start at £58 and go upwards!

There are a 4 or 5 blue dots (unsold seats that are 40 quid so I can see them going but £60 ish is way too much for the game imho

Having the midweek game against Brighton as a Cat. B is taking the piss as well. I paid £65 for a seat in Row 66 of the South Stand. That ain't chicken feed for midweek against a team that's going to park the bus.

    Cat. B......really? <laugh>
