Has anyone else noticed that the food and drinks concourses are terrible this year, well at least in the section of the Kingsland where my seat is
First of all they have done away with the madras pasties which were the best football grub ever and must have been popular because if you left it to long they were always gone! They have no drinks carriers so if you are getting a few beers for everyone you have to make a few trips to carry them back which can be a struggle getting by everyone and also makes the crowds around the drinks areas bigger and harder to access
Then yesterday I thought I would grab a pastie to take to my seat and everything was sold out, and I mean everything, nothing left not even a hot dog! Its crazy they sell tickets for the games so they know how many are coming, not only that they know where the tickets are sold so they know the numbers in different parts of the ground, so who the hell is running it! A ten year old could sort it out better
The Don put up parking at the ground which I don’t have a problem with if it helps the club finances but how much is the club losing but not being able to sell food and drinks to the max, they must be losing a lot more the they make at parking

Never have understood people who feed their face at football grounds with overpriced rubbish, never will.

Plenty of time before and after a game to find decent grub.

When has 3pm on a Saturday been the key time of the day to have something to eat????

I don't eat at ground because they don't serve anything worth eating. I would otherwise because I set off prior to eating and could do with something. I cannot see why it's beyond the wit of man to produce something tasty as a snack, unless they don't want to compete with franchises outside. After all the money spent elsewhere I can't see why this can't be sorted. Ever heard of paninis and pizza, Nicola?

Some of the food at the ground is ok. But the point is the service could be so much better and the club would benefit from it

This is basic good business. If you are heating up chilled food at a match, and then your next opportunity to sell it is in 2 weeks time, you will want to make sure that you sell out of everything. I bring my own, if I can be bothered, as I hate queues and don't want to miss the action.

You don't want too much left over I agree, but I bet the mark up is sufficient to warrant a bit of wastage. Having said that, perhaps far more people bought food and they were just caught out.

Just a thought..perhaps someone should suggest to Cortese that the media and other teams are laughing at our concourse food and suggesting that it shows we are only a small club..then stand back and wait for beef wellington and champagne cocktails:grin:

Expecting a flame but I've never really understood people who go to the pub and get p***ed before the game. Personally I go to a football match to watch the football, not get hammered and forget that I've ever been...........

It is the teams fault really, if they didn't keep winning we would not be seeing nearly 25,000 crowds and it wouldn't be so difficult to cater for so many.

The way I get to the ground I walk over the northam bridge so I normally have something to eat at one of the outside franchises on the Britannia road. However fancied something different yesterday so had a chicken balti in the Itchen south and it was delish :emoticon-0125-mmm:

What strikes me as somewhat a bit silly...and I am sorry to say this......you all know that the food and drink is relatively rubbish and well over priced .....yet you still buy it. Surely you can find less costly and and better tasting food prior to the game? Or as some others have suggested bring your own. Ok I understand about the beer and the fact you cannot take it in to the ground but do you really need a pint during a match, cannot that wait for before and after the game? The alternative is obviously to buy the crap you are complaining about.....Ohhh what a vicious circle............<laugh>
