I'm no great fan of Dalglish, but you can read his comments as a sly dig at Fergie, and I'm all for that! What he said was "I will need to go the same route other people go and see if we can gain some benefit from that" - in other words, ManUSA have the Refs eating out of their hands, and Kenny wants a bit of that action.

The problem with Dalglish is that he has delusions of adequacy. He sees himself as some sort of equal to Fergie. When, in reality, of course, he's not even in the same galaxy as a manager.

Kenny will soon have not-a-thug back playing for them and he can dive and cheat his way to numerous penalties to redress the balance!

Isn't the long grass comment on the lines of narrowing and widening the pitch according to how much width the home team wants (or doesn't want) to play with? Or don't teams do that anymore? Noticed yesterday that the Wolves pitch had the potential to be far wider.

Lol seems like the delusion has rapidly spread from fans to management, Dalglish needs to remove his rose tinted spectacles. On yesterdays match versus Stoke all 3 dodgy decisions were correct (despite what biased Hansen thinks), Carthorse Carragher had his arm around the Stoke player and fouled him - cast iron penalty. Both the Liverpool hand ball shouts were ball to hand and NOT hand to ball.

    Yeah, I spotted that, too.
There was acres of space between the edge of the pitch and the hoardings.

Bolton used to do it all the time under Allardyce.
They made their pitch even narrower when they were playing in Europe, as the rules allow for even less pitch space in European competition, for some reason.

  11. All of this points to the very reason why I am so critical of LFC and their fans. All of them, from King Kenny right down to Ze Liverbird have a belief that they have a god-given right to be in the top 4 and to contest the CL every season. Their two seasons out of the top 4, in their minds, has nothing to do with our rise to prominence but is due to Roy Hodgson's dodgy tactics. When the King fails, the fault will lie elsewhere, and already we are seeing the beginnings of a trial of excuses.

The grass was too long! <laugh>

Next, it'll be "the chalk lines were too thick!"

    You couldn't make this up!

Dalglish is just trying to distract from his team's failure to score.

Nice to hear Alan Hansen's totally unbiased opinion of events, though.

Dalglish always reminds me of a spoilt little boy,he is very quick to forget the offside goals against Arsenal. As always the scousers want it all their own way(just like my wife, who just happens to be a scouser also).I always thought the home team could do as they wish to pitch aslong as within the rules(a bit like cricket where the home team will have pitch as they want it).

To be fair, I agree that there should be a certain level of pitch quality, although Stoke's pitch looked fine to me. Wigan's is awful every year from January onwards and Blackpool's was also ridiculous last year.

Wigan's potato field shouldn't be allowed, but that's a long stretch from a bit of long grass!
Is there actually a rule about grass length, because if not then you could conceivably grow it to about 3 feet?

  16. They could try playing at the bottom of my garden, but I couldn't guarantee that they'd be able to find the ball each time.

  17. I've just over-excelled myself and coined a new name for LFC's saviour...

    "Bling" Kenny!

He's splashed the cash, but he still hasn't got any class <laugh>
