cos poeple want to get paid.. If I have brazilian beef or danish bacon and im going to import it into the UK then I have to have it as a registered customs item with a set code for which a tariff applies. This works the whole world over.... its not a change in system. the REALITY is inside the EU theres no tarffis and much simpler paperwork. The issue here is not what works now is fine. The issue here is what works now can no longer apply and more detailed paperwork is required and nobody has prepared for it as nobody knows what the **** is going on. the delays at port are quite simple: Say I stuck a container on a ship 10 weeks ago and shipped it to japan. Its got EU paperwork. If the UK crashes out friday and the ship arrives monday its got paper work that is no longer valid. so cutsoms won;t let it in as the free trade eu deal with japan only paplies to ... eu states! This was flagged already. Its the same with good going from UK to france say... you turn up Monday having crashed our friday and chances are the paper work is not aligned as nobody knows what the **** to do. This is not going to be a very long term issue but it'll be bedlam until paperworks are sorted.

Senior EU sources say the French president, Emmanuel Macron, is likely to seek to entrench the UK’s reduced status in the EU at the leaders’ Brexit summit on Wednesday evening. It is understood the commission is backing the plan. “The commission will demand this; it is logical,” said one senior EU diplomat, adding that a British commissioner could not take a seat “if the term of the mandate is short”. A French spokesman declined to comment on its position.
interesting demand. That really is a slap in face to UK and remainers as in effect its saying the 2nd biggest power in current EU (I think our economy is bigger than france) then won't have one of THE power roles in the EU. Commissioners maintain big economy power as they are the guys, some commissioner roles are whatevers, given to small countries but the real big jobs go to the big countries. This is saying you are OUT.. you are hanging round on our tolerance at this point nothing more. you will have no power except in name only.
Or Branson does not want to fund pensions as it will reduce the amount he can squirrel away abroad in some tax haven. Remember this is the same man who soon after setting up Virgin records nearly got locked up for tax fraud, but came to a deal to get himself off the hook. Slimey little arse
Pretty fair demand. We've acted the twat and the EU have the decency to put us on "gardening leave" rather than outright sack us like they should.
Brexit: UK and EU agree Brexit delay to 31 October he UK and the EU have agreed a "flexible extension" of Brexit until 31 October. Speaking after five hours of talks at an EU summit in Brussels, European Council president Donald Tusk said his "message to British friends" was "please do not waste this time". Theresa May said the UK would still aim to leave the EU as soon as possible. Irish Taoiseach Leo Varadkar said the UK must n
the French have clearly decided it's high time to become the biggest shouty voice in the eu here. they have basically given the UK a deadline to have eu elections or **** off by June 1 and we are gone no matter what by October 31st. I can sense a may asking for detention on may 30ths right now.

Jeremy Corbyn has called on the Government not to extradite Julian Assange, saying he had exposed evidence of atrocities in Iraq and Afghanistan. The 47-year-old WikiLeaks founder spent his first night in custody after being convicted on Thursday of breaching bail following a dramatic arrest at the Ecuadorian embassy in London, where he had been holed up for seven years. He is facing extradition to the US on charges of conspiring to break into a classified government computer which, on conviction, could attract a maximum jail sentence of five years, according to the US Department of Justice. Almost 12 hours his arrest, the Labour leader tweeted: "The extradition of Julian Assange to the US for exposing evidence of atrocities in Iraq and Afghanistan should be opposed by the British government."
Diane Abbott faces fury for defending Julian Assange by saying his 'real crime was to have embarrassed the US military' and 'we all know it's not about the rape charges' as he faces extradition Diane Abbott was accused of 'dismissing' sexual assault allegations levelled at Julian Assange after she said three times this morning: 'Charges were never brought.' The Shadow Home Secretary yesterday called for the UK to block the Wikileaks co-founder's extradition to the US for revealing sensitive military information. She told John Humphrys on Radio 4 today that there may be human rights grounds on which to oppose the hacker being taken to the US after he was ejected from the Ecuadorian embassy
Basically labour are doing an absolutely sterling job of forgetting just what a disaster the country is and how close the are to forcing a GE and probably winning it... and managing to prove just what a pack of nonsensical twats are at the top of the party. With respect nobody gives a **** about julian assange.
It's amazing that we (I mean the media message to all of us) focus so much on "Assange was a *****", "Assange was working for the Russians", "Assange put our military at risk" and maligning anyone with stupid point scoring like with Diane Abbot now, rather than discussing the ACTUAL content he leaked. Classic misdirection for the masses.
true but in the end he did flee arrest rather than face it down in court and so his arrest for that is lawful. Now they have to fight those charges anyway.
Yeh, but like you said nobody cares about Assange. It's just a shame nobody cares about the leaks themselves either because they're damning. Far more than some bloke who looks like Uncle Albert breaking bail conditions.
