Yes Roo he did, the whole strategy was to press City as much as possible and deny them time and space.

So how do you explain the fact that we scored when he went off? I started off by saying a while ago that he should be dropped and now others are now coming round to that opinion so you never know Roo, you might come round to the opinion about selling him.
It isn't a battle, I see it as logical. The REASON we lost to Burnley and others is because he came back and shouldn't have done and he has said to Spurs that unless we show ambition he'll be off, HE said that. If you find it exhausting then either don't read it or place us on your ignore list Roo............simple as but what I post I feel is for the benefit of the club as a whole and not just for one player.

My prediction is 4-0 next match.

In the middle of the pitch, I would agree, but not by the dugout.

Like I say, I get what you’re saying regarding changing things up.
Yep, we won and the dynamics without Kane see us play differently.
But also be aware that when he went off we had no long ball option and were forced to play city at their own game. We had a large spell without the ball and were under a lot midfield pressure, unable to get out. If it wasn’t for our defence being superb, and city being poor in the attacking 3rd, it could have gone horribly wrong.

Dropping him, not a problem. All players have a drop in form, and like you say, we need to do what’s right for the team.

But selling him isn’t right for the team.

His form I agree has been quite good since he came back for the Burnley match and until Palace was the main scorer but it's no good if it has a detrimental effect on the overall play and results is it? 1,1,1 0,1,1 or something like that, I'll wager we score well next match.

I wanted 3, but first and foremost in Europe keep a clean sheet at home. Then score away and life becomes difficult for the opposition. Yes Kane missed an easy one and Sonny could have had two more, but I'm happy with the result, I would have taken that all day before the start.

Given our next match is against Huddersfield, you need to take that with a pinch of salt mate.

    Actually more like this

You probably thought we'd beat Burnley didn't you Huddle and City only scored 2 against Huddersfield and take what with a pinch of salt? I really can understand resentment by some of you about being proved wrong.

Poch has said Kane's out for the season, I bet we improve.

    Sadly have to go.

It was loud, very loud. Winks deserved an A, not B+, him and Sissoko were the best players, a cruise missile wouldn't have got past them. Everyone deserves a mention though.

I think you are confusing the ends of scoring a goal with the means of how we got to that position. In reality, we had a poor 2nd half compared to a bright 1st half. We could barely string 3 passes together and that got markedly worse after Kane went off as we didn't have anyone up top to make it stick and relieve the City pressure.

So the ends of the goal came more as a result of half the City defense switching off claiming that the ball went out and a poor attempt to save by Ederson (he didn't look comfortable at all after Otamendi wiped him out mid air) than any amazing passages of play from us. So to my mind given the means of poor defending and an injured keeper it is just as likely Kane scores in that scenario as it is Son does, which would have not only defeated your point but proved to the contrary as we were visibly better as a team in the 1st half with Kane on the pitch.

I’m sure we will. We score goals without him. I’ve already said this when I used the period after the Bournemouth injury as the example.

Seeing as you’re going to get your wish, spend the next few games analysing something else other than just the goals we score, though.
Look at how we pass out from the back and break the lines to create attacks.
Look at the possession statistics in each 3rd of the pitch.
See if you think the DM’s are under more pressure.
Assess whether the defence are sat back deeper, and the pressing game changes.
Look at how productive long balls are, if we play any.

It’s a good chance for you to see what a positive impact Kane does have on the team. <ok>

Yeah I thought we’d beat Burnley, especially if we didn’t rush Kane back. We did and it backfired, along with a shambles of a refereeing performance that match, let’s not forget. You’re arguing past me if you think that’s being proved wrong.

I’m not saying take your views with a pinch of salt. I’m saying that scoring 4+ goals against Huddersfield is meaningless because they’re jointly the worst team ever to play in the PL. We can’t read anything into a big win against them because it bears no reflection on the rest of the games we have to play.

Frankly if we won every league game for the rest of the season with a scrappy 1-0 in the 91st minute I wouldn’t care, the way this season has gone we just need to get over the line.

Is this the same hypothetical scenario as son would have bagged the winning goal against dortmund if kane wasnt on the pitch?

For those who enjoy stats, Spurs have played Citeh 157 times is competitive games. After last night, 35 draws, Spurs have won 61, Citeh 61.
61 is a good number for Spurs but then again, so is 62.

As I've said I don't agree with selling Kane but DGC's claims are being backed up with facts on the pitch so his/her argument is worthy of debate and a valid one

    Exactly

And this is why I think he steps on Son's toes too much...concentrate a bit more in and around the Pen area and give Son space to express himself.

He doesn't need to press that deep...there's others more appropriate to do it that deep.

There's room for improvement even in Kane...Son is just as important if you ask me so how about Kane re educates himself so that we can see the best of him and his teammate

Hardly the winning goal as we were 3-0 up overall.

Kane cannot do that, because this season :

    1. CM is not bringing the ball forward to the final third
    often enough in these games

    2. the "wingers" are NOT doing their job

I agree, and think we can set the team up better next season to make the best of both of them in the team.
