They’re more than capable of playing together, the way forward is the 433 with Son on the left playing as Sterling does for City/England, and Mane for Liverpool. Kane excels in that ‘9.5’ role where he leads the line but drops off sometimes as well. The RW stays wide to stretch the game. Poch actually did something similar when he started at Southampton as well, with Lambert through the middle and Jay Rodriguez on the left, which is why I think we’ll try that next season, especially if Eriksen leaves and we don’t sign a direct replacement, which I don’t think we will.
We need to get savvy at these things too..i thought we had a few seasons ago. We were a bunch of c*nt$ back then and we prospered for it.
I'm now confident that we will thrash Huddersfield 4-0 or something but I'll be tuning into the Palace v City match, I want to study City's weaknesses. Spurs v Huddersfield and Palace v City are vitally important for both teams. We'll get a stronger winning momentum going and City must somehow find their form to put them into good fettle for us because if they lose we won't have much to do to get into the semi final.
On my way home. No voice. City tried to play down the effect of the new stadium. I guess thats ****ed, eh Pep? That's what a world class stadium does. City were lost in it. It changes everything. It's a new dawn folks.
And the media started treating our team like they were a bunch of criminals and we can't buy a ****ing decision any more. Whereas City get away with **** like this, despite VAR:
HOW HOW HOW is that not a red?!!! From the top of South, I could not see the details. EDIT: The more I watch it the worse it gets. When he is landing he purposely aims his elbow to the side of Kane's head, he then elbows the back of his head a second time and then looks out the side of his eye to see where the ref is and then pushes Kane's head down. that is sooooo filthy- (WWE) How does VAR not see it? Plenty of players would have been rolling around, highlighting the issue to the ref.
Well gentlemen, we are still in the Champion's League and I'm confident of advancing to the semis. Goodnight.
Fantastic night. My first visit to the new Lane. It's very strange when you're in the concourse, a bit football fans-meets shopping centre. That will take me a while to get used to. But the stands - my god! I know we all have nostalgia for the old Lane, and even though it's practically in the same place I still feel guilty for saying it, this new place beats in every department. I know some fans are treating it like an evolution of the old WHL, like it's still here but had a facelift but there aint enough silicone on the planet to do up the old girl like it looks now. ****, it's good to be back in Tottenham though Oh and the game. We were great. Love the tits off all our players. Lloris was immense again tonight, Winks and Sissoko were amazing, Son just loves making us all happier and Trippier was good(!). Gutted about the news on Kane though, hopefully he'll be back for the final! COYS
The south stand broke into a massive cheer, probably bigger than Hugo’s penalty save or Son’s goal. Harry Kane, the useless multiple golden boot winner was injured again. Buzzing!
As I left and was walking down the high road, he was being escorted into the police van. Had five officers surrounding him. Safe to say he weren’t the most popular of people.
Thought Tripps was brilliant last night. Best game he’s had all season. Pocketed Sterling - which on this season’s form, is a huge thing to do because he’s terrorised just about every FB he’s faced.
Oh for goodness sake, can't you see that being a golden boot winner is secondary to the benefit of the team? Take the favouritism glasses off and stop being so ignorant.
Without Kane’s goals over the last five seasons we’d probably be in about 15th place or worse. But yeah, he does **** all for the team. You’re special you are.
The pundits after the game seemed to think that the ref had seen it and taken action by speaking to the players as well, so no chance of retrospective action if that’s the case. We’ll have to wait and see what’s in the ref’s match report.
Dirty plastic Bastards how can var give them a penalty and blatantly ignore all the bad tackles they made all night.Var will ruin football if it continues making wrong decisions like.we saw last night.
I don’t get the Narrative (TM) that Kane went in to do Delph damage and therefore deserved to get injured. Kane hasn’t gone high. Delph gets a pass because he’s not off his feet but that’s arguably worse for Kane as Delph’s weight comes down on a planted foot. I can’t help but think that if Kane really wanted to leave one on Delph, he could find a better way to do it than to viciously attack Delph’s studs with his ankle. “And then your honour, he dealt me a thunderous blow to my fist with his face!” It’s a robust 50/50, Delph has not deliberately done this, both had a right to go for the ball, but Delph gets himself in a dangerous position and was lucky to get away with it. We’ve seen plenty of challenges over the years where someone wins the ball, catches someone with the follow through studs up, and concedes a foul or a card, and this was one of them. To blame Kane is stupid.
Great win and a brilliant start to life at the new Lane A few thoughts... 1. Does Sonny come into his own with Kane off the pitch? Possibly. 2. Is Kane our best forward / player and should play every game if fit? Pretty much, Yes. (But probably now not an issuetthis season ) - 1 & 2 are not mutually exclusive. - yes we scored when HK off the pitch but that came when we were getting hammered. Kane had played really well and battered Iotamendi and Laporte. And Fernandinho shouldn't have seen the 2nd half 3. Only watched on TV but I wasn't convinced by Dele. Take RCL comments as he was there and saw the work he did. 4. Eriksen was really influential but shouldn't be let near a dead all kick for a while 5. I readily admit to being in the 'Hugo needs a rest' camp, but his penalty save was vital. Had nothing else to do, mind. 6. Unexpectedly, Trippier didn't get torn a new one and in fact got stronger as the day went on. 7. Rose recovered from the pen incident and did OK. 8. Toby & Jan were both excellent although not their most difficult game. 9. Great to see Big Vic back and looking strong 10. Winksy worked hard and deserves a B+ 11. Lucas appears to have found his mojo again. Amazing what getting some decent game time does for the confidence. He could be vital in the return. 11. Moussa was just.... Well, just Moussa at his best - as he has been in virtually every game this season. He was immense again and is incredibly consistent. Finally, what was the atmosphere like? Commentators said it was loud but didn't come across on TV... Slept well last night! COYS!
I completely agree, but did Kane really need to be chasing a ball down on the half way line like that, at full throttle?
