Pen decisions like that are always gonna be subjective, VAR or no VAR. Yes VAR can help a ref make a decision, but it’s still up to him to judge whether it was intentional or not.
That defo wasn’t intentional but that doesn’t mean it’s not a penalty. Mistakes lead to pens as well.
Ah fair enough, so PL, UEFA comps and say another league can all interpret it differently if they wish? Didn't know that.
I wonder if the ref is going to ease up on Porto and cut them some slack? Maybe Klopp will bring him off for the start of the second half ?
No sorry mate you're wrong, you wanted var so you can't say it's suddenly wrong and you're right cos it gave a decision against Spurs.
Doesn’t work like that in those situations, and you should know it. That was always a subjective decision, VAR or no VAR.
For those not watching (enduring!), Trent Alex raises his arm to deliberately elbow the ball out of play and it wasn't given. About as stone wall as is possible to be. If VAR can't give that, there is no ****ing hope.
Thanks I'm watching the other game. I have to say Spurs have settled quickly into their new ground. Better than at Wembley by the looks of it.
