I don't think they will revoke article 50. Not without another referendum in any event. It would be totally unacceptable.
So the EU saying they are confident they could find a solution to the Irish border if we had a No agreement Brexit.Really ? Well how come you haven't been able to come up with anything the last 3 years you w#####s.
It's just as some of us have been saying all along they won't negotiate anything meaningful until after we have left.
Still all in play at moment. No deal should get voted out as an option but no guarantee. Revoke highly unlikely unless no play is not an option, customs union talks fail and Europe refuse an extension. Not impossible but think people will do everything they can to avoid. Customs Union/May deal - still requires Labour and Conservatives agreeing so still pretty fraught and even then if there’s a confirmation ref attached or not attached it could get voted down because of that. Long delay - will mean May resigns, new leader (Brexiteer) who will discover the same parliamentary make-up and then probably an election. My guess is long delay with customs union not far behind as 2nd most likely.
I see your Mrs May is now off to meet with Frau Merkel and taking her begging bowl. Trying everything to stay in the EU.
No deal Brexit can't be voted out as it is the default deal to leave the EU if no agreement can be reached. Revoking Article 50 would need an act of Parliament, post a peoples vote I presume. Customs Union is not an option as it keeps the UK in the EU......Brexit means leave, lock stock and barrel. Long delay, possible, but not wanted by the EU corrupt. 150 right wing MEP's being touted as the number of MEP's to sit in the EU after the EU elections. This would completely disrupt the corrupt EU pollies agendas. The Eurosceptic MEP's will cause chaos for the EU corrupt pollies. General Election, too late, no agreement/extension means we leave 12th April.
Revoking article 50 would not need a people’s vote, as Parliament is sovereign and can do what it likes. However, it’s pretty obvious that morally there ought to be a people’s vote before article 50 is revoked, otherwise that would be a clear middle finger to the referendum result.
Revoking Article 50 requires an act of Parliament, doing it would be the biggest betrayal against the people and create total revolt and chaos, it would also destroy democracy as we know it, as well as destroying the Tory and Labour parties. To prevent any of the above happening, a people's vote would probably be required. JRM says it as it is. BBC try to corner JRB, will fake news ever learn.
Well, why not revoke article 50 with the promise of another referendum when you've actually figured out what it all means and what is possible and practical?
That's not what I said at all Eccers, read what I write properly, and not how you want to interpret it. This is what I wrote. "Revoking Article 50 requires an act of Parliament, doing it would be the biggest betrayal against the people and create total revolt and chaos, it would also destroy democracy as we know it, as well as destroying the Tory and Labour parties. "Another defeat" in the Lords. "Do it, Express poll". "May humiliated....." Helloooo, she's still there and negotiating on your behalf!!
Revoking A50 does not neccesarily need an act of parliment. It's highly unlikely it would be done and even more unlikely that it would be done without getting parliments approval if only to shift/share the blame but it's not neccesarily true that it needs an act of parliment. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-47668466
More likely that in the unlikely case it was revoked it would be revoked with then the promise of another vote (due to time).
