Have to agree with Doc here, Brown has looked a class act every time he plays for the U23s, and while he looks languid he has strength, pace and talent to burn. If we go up I hope we take him with us, he's PL quality.

Two years ago he ripped us a new one for the DBs. <ok>

Social media have Brown as MOM again but no Bogusz either means he's injured or he's on the bench tomoz as No10 replacement. 17yo superstar

Consensus around me at the match was that Brown didn't seem particularly interested. I have to agree. He had some excellent moments, but a lot of hiding. Wasn't particularly involved in pressing. Chap beside me reckoned he was dragging a leg towards the end, but can't say I noticed myself. Might explain lot if that was the case.

Stevens astounded me tonight. First time I've seen total commitment from him. And hunger. Very impressive. He & Berra got hooked at half time, so suspect that they were getting slung in a mini bus for Preston, as the team coach had already left.

Very odd first half lineup. MFer Gotts at RB, RB Hosannah & LB Davis as CBs, RB/CB Berra at LB! They did fine, btw, although Davis struggled a little with their big powerful CF breaking though. I thought that Davis had filled out since I last seen him play. Guy beside me agreed, & we also agreed that Edmondson gets skinnier every time we see him. Lean isn't the word for him these days. Btw, his goal was an absolute peach. Watch it if you can. Thought the 'keeper had saved it (he had a few crackers, btw!), but it was too powerful for him.

Struijk & Shacks came on at HT. Davis initially went out to LB & Struijck took over at CB. Shackers went into MF. I think. I think & say initially, as they were all all over the place in the second half. In a good way, I might add. McCalmont, Shacks & Gotts covered DM, CM, & RB between them. But in a total football kind of way. Davis ended up LW, although he broke through the middle a few times - and bloody quick with it too!

Overall, there was a great deal of dynamism in the team. Right through it. Apart from Brown. He played the same role right though. And possibly why there are such varying views on his performance. For me, despite how he may have looked on the telly, there was no hunger, no passion, not screaming determination. He did find a pass. Often. He did make runs. Often. But ... I'm not really sure how to put this. It's like one of those films where someone is moving along in slow motion & everything around him is in fast forward. To some he'll seem cool, calm & collected. To others he'll appear languid & going through the motions. It's like he's past caring. Hope I'm wrong, but I think he's toast, even though I'm pretty sure I read somewhere today that he's expected to sign for us next season. I can't see it myself. I think he's going to be a great player, but not with us in the system we use. Again, hope I'm wrong.

EDIT: Forgot to mention Clarke. Abject. Think his head might have got truly fcuked with his collapse experience. Looks like it's over for him this season. Hopefully not.

In fairness, I didn't see the game tonight, I was thinking about earlier outings when I commented above. You'd be best placed to judge WJ, but I believe there's a talent there fighting to get out, and he'll make it with us or someone else.

90 in 90 on LUTV shows all the goals and a bit of the play. From this Brown made some great passes but it's only 90 seconds of the whole match?

Creativity is what we are lacking brown can provide it what a waste. Cannot see why he never gets a look in. I dont care if hes not much of a tackler we need some flair and hes got it.

When did you last see evidence of this in a competitive match? How many years ago?

Cannot disagree with WJ re Brown because suppose its subjective. He just looks to have more time but wasnt there only tv to go by. Wonder if Mike or someone who saw a bit of him for Udders can compare him from then to now? Did he look languid/lazy before the injury.

You cant compare him Doc when playing with a promoted Huddersfield team and a kickaround with the under 23's. Its a totally different level, Ipswich were hopeless and he should be dominating a game like that, he wasnt remotely near being our best player. From what Ive seen, he certainly isnt and isnt getting rave reviews from the journalists at the games either. I doubt if hell play another five minutes for the senior squad

Opinions mate and heres one that asks why he isnt playing and also thinks Edmondson should play as soon as he fills out <laugh> Wj explained that he was a big unit but now looking sleak and fitter and losing weight. Its opinions and in my view is better than a few in our first team

LOL. Any bank of tests would almost certainly prove that I'm a lot older than you. I only have my birth certificate to go by. I'm positive it was issued when I was 20. :)
