I remember that pic of Frank Bruno shaking Sutcliffe's hand on a prison visit. I'd bet Frank didn't know who the **** was.
Great to see there is another series of Line of duty, I see the first eposode was the most watched show so far in 2019.
I enjoyed all of it, both series, first episode I watched I was not sure but got into it and found it highly entertaining.
"The Victim", first episode on BBC1 tonight (Mon), showed much promise of being an intriguingly complex legal whodunnit.
They stole the style, and Olivia Colman, from Peep Show, and the bird sometimes wears what looks like a Hull FC top, but yes Fleabag is good.
I've just watched the 3 episodes, it is astounding how inept the officers leading the case were. When they took on a certain mindset, they are just like the Allam's they will not accept that they were totally wrong and just kept blindly on the same tack. What I really found distasteful was when he was caught, through no intervention by themselves, they were quick to jump on the adulation of him being caught. When you take this case, also the Hillsborough tragedy, and even the handling of the City/Huddersfield situation a few years ago, it really does undermine any respect you might have for the polices competence.
You can understand that the cover up/ embarrassment went right to the top. No wonder they wanted a one day trial before too many questions were asked in court about cost. length of investigation, the red herring Mackem hoaxer being taken as pukka etc .
It really was quite unbelievable that a number of the girls attacked and survived gave good descriptions and said he had a local accent, but Oldfield disregarded that and still followed the Geordie boy line. When he was paraded after Sutcliffe was caught really did get my hackles up.
