I'd say that since Redknapp our 'managers' have actually been head coaches, with Ferdinand responsible for player transfers (in and out) and wages. Hoos would give him an overall budget total to work with. It seems that manager/head coach appointments have been done over his head, which is wrong in my view.

Get Allardyce in to shake this shower up. We are 5 points off of relegation and I cannot see where the next goal is coming from let alone points.
What the hell has happened to the team that did Forest away and Villa home and we were 2 points off the play-offs.

Was hoping we'd have an appointment by now, Eustace doesn't fill me with confidence for Wednesday.

Agreed. He looked like a rabbit caught in headlights on Saturday.

Sums up the cretins running our club that they sack an ex-England manager days before a match at the Champions-elect and put a virtual unknown in charge with no apparent replacement lined up. If we end up with a panic replacement we could do a lot more damage...

This really is no defence...but I'm not sure the management could win on this one.

If they had left it until ( the inevitable) loss at Norwich...we would have been calling for everybodys head.
They were in a no win situation. I think they were hoping we would limp in towards the end of the season and then they could do something in close season....but actually we were too bad for that and they had to do that to get the new manager bounce to get us 3-6 points to keep us in the division.

Not blaming the management for this one myself

Michael Appleton proved himself in the lower leagues with Oxford

Michael Appleton has held talks with Queens Park Rangers as the Championship strugglers step up their search for a new manager.

Appleton has met with Rangers officials and is believed to be rivalling Tim Sherwood for the job at Loftus Road.

QPR dismissed former England manager Steve McClaren last week and are keen to make an appointment before the weekend, with the club in danger of relegation to League One.

Appleton is high on Rangers’ list of candidates after establishing an impressive reputation at Oxford, who he guided to League Two promotion on a small budget.

The 43-year-old is also renowned as an excellent coach, working under Craig Shakespeare and then Claude Puel at Premier League club Leicester. He has been considered for the position of head coach at West Bromwich Albion, following the dismissal of Darren Moore last month.

QPR have also interviewed Sherwood, who is understood to remain the favourite to succeed McClaren.

Rangers face Millwall at The Den on Wednesday and are expected to keep caretaker manager John Eustace in charge for the game.

Eustace suffered a 4-0 defeat at Championship leaders Norwich on Saturday, which left the club five points clear of the relegation zone.

Michael Appleton - a man who has proven himself at lower leagues or Tim Sherwood who has achieved nothing. Guess who we’ll go for? All about who you know.

I heard they've open talks with Marcel Marceau.
The club seems to specialise in the 'art of silence' on various topics QPR, so this possible appointment would be no surprise.
