NUFC fan in peace. Regarding Andy, I think he will come good with minutes, fitness and service. I have noticed the way you play doesn't suit him and the rest of your team is unsure of how to play when he comes on. Look at him against yourselves last year and for you against Manchester City. That is Andy at his finest. I've heard some of your fans saying he was a waste of money which may well be true. But Andy was worth that to us as without him we could well have gone down. I don't think his fee should come into it.

For us he was unplayable quite often and he dominated many BPL defences last year including yours. He will come good and I hope he does as I want him to do well. Also I hear Enrique is doing well, very underrated and will be an asset to your team. Hope you break the top 4.

Today we didn't try to look for him when he came on, other matches we did.

Thats one way we went wrong, today of all matches we should of looked for him at the end of the six yard box.

Jose has been incredibly solid and is getting comfortable going forward too. I'll be the first to admit I wasn't sure about him when rumours of interest in him were circulating, but I'll hold up my hands and salute his performances thus far. His first game he solidified the defence superbly, reluctant to go forward but he wasn't ready to good idea to play it safe and hold back. At the Emirates he kept Walcott at bay and at Bolton he started to push forward a little more. Today when we were behind in the last 15-20 mins he went forward and linked up with Bellamy really well, the overlap runs and the passes were well timed and accurate, not running to far ahead but not falling behind either.

I think he just needs to get used to the way the wide players work. At Newcastle Barton would just lob balls in from 20 yards out but Downing likes to get to the byline and whip balls across and it seems he's not quite expecting the quality of crosses that Downing is providing.

I think he needs to gamble a bit more and aticipate that the ball is going to go into the danger area rather than expect the wide players to pick him out. Hopefully the more he trains with them the better. I do think he'll come good but people just need to not expect him to score 30+ goals this season. If he gets 15+ it'll be a good year.

The weight of the fee Liverpool paid will bury him.

He is a good player, nothing more. To make him the 8th most expensive Player in the history of the game, was utter madness.

If we give him enough time, I see him coming through the fee. However, what you said is feasible, too.

Surprisingly, nothing about pace from David schofield.

Very good point. When people look at the fee, they see £35million whereas us Liverpool supporters see it the way the owners and the rest of the club see it Carroll + £15m for Torres (Or Suarez + Carroll for Torres + Babel).

Unfortunate for the lad but its something we've all got to get on with and just let the lad perform himself, the pressure eased slightly against Manchester City, it will continue to ease once the goals go in. He just needs to take every game and goal one at a time.

LFC see the fee as T-C+15M

The rest of the world don't need to make such an equation.

You paid £35M for him. That's that.

    And it was daft.

    Abuse again?

Is that it? Someone writes something you know yourself to be true, and instead of being an adult, you hurl abuse?

    Why is that?

People on this board react to you with abuse.

    Why is that?

My point is we see it differently to everyone else. Roman payed the £35million for Carroll by paying £50million for Fernando Torres, now that was a little daft to be honest.

    Understood.

But Roman didn't say I'll pay you £50M for Torres, but only if you blow £35M of it on Carroll

Think it was more the opposite... We needed a striker and pardew/Ashley said give us 35 mil for Carroll, so we made as much profit on Torres as possible. <ok>

Funnily enough, it seems to be just the Mods and ex-Mods who are rude on here.

It's a messageboard, it's about expressing opinions, if you don't like that sort of thing, find a new hobby

It's a forum, I'm a mod on this forum, When I see a WUM I don't tend to treat them with respect. In the past, you've just WUMmed, and you can count yourself lucky you're still allowed on this board.

Maybe you don't see it as being a WUM, but whenever you're on this board (which is quite often considering you're not a Liverpool fan, or even a United fan) you cause 80% of other users to get annoyed, either by repeating the same point regardless of the development of the argument, or by generally criticising players (as I see you've done a lot on the Arsenal board).
Here, for example, you keep reminding us of Carroll's fee. You made your point; 35 million is a lot to have paid for him, and his performances may suffer because of that fee. Fine, that's your opinion and you're entitled to it, but why make 3 or 4 posts stating this? That same can be said of your notorious 'no pace' postings.
That's how a WUM works, in case you didn't know. They make a point that they know others disagree with, and then continue to make that point. Anyone not looking to be a nuisance would simply agree to disagree.
If I came up to you and said 'I don't like that shirt you're wearing', you'd probably disagree and say why you like it. If I then said 'Yeah, but I don't like it' in reply to each of your subsequent defences, you'd start to get a little annoyed with me wouldn't you?

    The latest on Caroll http://twitpic.com/6j038u

He had half a season of goals in the premier league, and is known to be a alcoholic.....Newcastle must be laughing at £35 million....it will be Dalglish downfall, even though I have a lot of time for Dalglish! Suarez is a great signing though...

Why would Andy Carroll being a flop(if he turns out to be a flop)be Kenny's downfall?

Lots of managers make mistakes in the tranfer market, like every manager NUFC have had for 40 years(hence you have'nt won anything of note during that time),As for the 35m,it came out of the 50m the Russian mobster paid for Torres.

The owners will judge Kenny on results not the players hes bought,as for Carroll being a juicehead and a fella that like an argument,it will be his downfall and not Kenny's if he does'nt change his ways and repay the faith KK has shown him.

And LOL at your link to the Daily Star.
