Keep calm dears, we beat Preston on tues, Birmingham beat Sheff on weds, we're back into autos, simples
After what I can only describe as a shambles here are my positive/negatives/ratings Positives Kiko's saves plus he is like our last-ditch defender clearing up the mess in front of him Phillips crunching tackle Negatives Bamford's missed chances again, another open goal Camp only had one save to make from our only header on target We couldn't have scored if we played all night Inability to keep a clean sheet Numerous wasted corner-kicks. One decent cross in 90 minutes Cooper looking more & more like the Cooper of last season Alioski couldn't beat a man Harrison couldn't do anything When Pablo is not on song we look poor Poor substitutions We needed energy/pace on the pitch, Shackleton the obvious choice Roofe doesn't look fit Clarke has a big future but not this season as he doesn't seem to hace recovered from his illness & is of course still very raw Dilly-dally Dallas is Dallas. We got worse with the introduction of our three subs Ratings 9 Casilla MOTM 6 Ayling 6 Jansson 5 Cooper 5 Alioski 7 Phillips 5 Hernandez 6 Klich 5 Roberts 2 Harrison 2 Bamford Subs 3 Roofe 3 Clarke 3 Dallas
I agree and i will do every game. But if we cant afford a decent striker on our income then Orta has a lot to answer for wasting the clubs money.
7 defeats in our last 16 games is nothing better than the play-off form teams excluding Villa who are on their best run of form of the season at the right time I may add Blunts have lost 2 in 16 games, apart from Preston I can't remember any other Norwich losses. And fans keep telling me to keep the faith A section of our fans are so biased/blinkered & obviously ignore what's going on around them I did say after both our home victories v Bolton & Millwall that it is not just about the result, we were shocking in both & suffered the consequences in our next away matches at QPR & Birmingham. Performances & consistency do matter, that's why teams are promoted & clubs like ourselves fook up
Players with the right mind set are needed for the run in and we dont seem to be doing so well under pressure.
To be fair our fans always give 110% our away following are amazing, the best there is, we've got to keep it going and get behind the lads
Bamford was seriously unlucky how it hit the post and more or less landed in the keepers stranded hands.
So, if you went to ER every other week to watch the team would you be letting the lads know how **** they are or would you be getting behind them urging them on?
Being an eternal optimist where Leeds is concerned, a post like this with such a negative slant would really get my hackles up. But d'you know what? I can't really see anything to disagree with here. Pretty much right on the mark. Well done (sadly). My only question (and I don't know the answer) is whether we played badly, or whether Monk's team were very successful in stopping us playing. I'm inclined to think of the latter, as that's what he did best when managing us, so is no-one's mug when it comes to managing the opposition.
From what I saw I would say monks boys stopped us playing our normal game. Yes we had lots of possession but that was about all.
Not sure which is worse,as we have lost 6 since Christmas, looks like teams like brum working us out may be fatal.
And that is why,it's imperative to have a top class striker/finisher in the side (something we sadly lack) someone who given the ball can make their own space, instinctively knows where the goal is and can hit the back of the net out of nothing, doesn't matter if the oposition have you sussed, this one piece of skill will be the difference between a good team & an excellent team eg pukki of Norwich,we have had this type of player in the past in an average team, now we have a good team but not a natural striker,oh if only we could have married the two in january,i think we would have, like Norwich auto's sewed up.
Ayling 6/10? Or did you mean 0.6/10? He tries hard but I cringe every time he gets the ball. Thought we looked better when he was out and Shackleton or Dallas played RB. Yes he scored a good goal last week but his general all round play is woeful.
I thought the 3 games this week were going to be key to whether we had a chance of auto. Penetrating insight time - it hasn’t started well. Neither of the next two are easy on paper, but we still could win them. So it’s slightly too early to be thinking about play offs (groan) but I fear that’s our destination.
