I don’t claim to know Jack Ross coz I don’t. Ive never met him. However a good friend of mine is a Scottish sports journalist and is a boyhood friend of JR. according to him Honeyman is the most influential player and driver of the entire club.
My post above was supposed to be in response to Cumbrians well thought out comment. Sorry pressed the wrong buttons
Jack has persisted with Wyke and it as paid off, i would have took him off for Sterling ! Honeyman comes on for Gooch enforced but scores, we may need McGeady back on Tuesday though.
Nobody is above criticism if it's your honest opinion but knocking Honeyman is a bit daft because he gives his all every game and bleeds red and white stripes. Besides which he's a useful player he's been involved in more than his fair share of goals this season.
We would all like to see McGeady back ASP Monty, but we have also shown we are not a one man team and will cope while he recovers, its been a long tough season and I reckon like Leady he will benefit from a short rest. With these two and Maguire not far away from returning we should have a great end to the season, fingers crossed.
Maguire will be wanting to prove a point when he returns, he wants to be top dog and McGeady's recent form will fire him up. Just in time for the promotion push.
Just worked out that if it wasn't for Barnsley's dodgy pen today we'd already be above them. Bit sad I know and not exactly essential information Just can't wait to see us in that second position.
Dodgy is an understatement!! There wasn’t a claim for it. There wasn’t anything from any side!! Only the ref knows what it was for
Just seen the away days think in SAFC.com and holy **** the support again. Credit to all the lads that get to away games it’s incredible the numbers and the noise, what a contribution to the season that’s been, talk about a 12th man is usually a home thing! Doubt Rochdale has ever seen owt like it.
Rochdale moved 500 season tkt holders to elsewhere in the ground to accomodate SAFCs travelling army. Obviously financially wise it made sense to the owner.
It’s wrong in a way but you kind of understand it as well, might be years before another Sunderland or Leeds visits, nobody else is taking them numbers. Love the support Wyke has got, it’s the complete opposite of last few years when he’d have been thrown to the wolves. The fans were backing him even without a goal I can see him getting a few in the run in now. Once we get over the line we will look back on this season and realise how incredible it’s been, crazy that 2 defeats and Wembley and it’s taken us until week 39 to get level! In reality, what Ross has done, crazy. Yeah he’s got a few bits wrong up to January but since Grigg has come in and he’s had balance the form is staggering really, and considering the squad and numbers we had, he’s done a ridiculous job. I’ve just changed jobs and never have to work a Saturday or later than 6pm again, so I’m gonna enjoy the next few weeks and the scenes, starting on Tuesday!
Nads, The gate was just over 6000 and 4000 of them were ours so Rochdale fans were treated to something they're not used to yesterday. Our away support is staggering.
Staggering is the word mate! Their average is 3,500 or so. That away following is massive part of the late goals, I’m certain of that.
Away fans always get behind the team no matter what. Except the 15 and 19 point seasons (both of which I went hom and away to every bloody game) the away support has always been amazing. If we could replicate that at home the SoL would be awesome! Hoping fir around 35000 on Tuesday!!
