https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/av/football/47808900 I always thought that City's FA Cup exploits tend to be overlooked or forgotten by the BBC - nice to see this one didn't slip through the net.
If someone had said to me in the early 80s "One day you will witness City put 5 past minnows Sheffield United at Wembley in the Cup", I would have said "That'll do for me, I'm cashing out as a City fan here and now"
I'm with you CM , I will take that memorable day to my grave . PS I dislike the blades more than Leeds . If the WS go up auto then hopefully a win for us Easter Monday is the difference . Up yours Wilder .
If we beat Sheffield it might let in the vermin. Would be good to defeat Bristol in the last game also- a gobby set of fans with a chip on their shoulder.
A wonderful day that, Tom Huddlestone's goal is up there with one of my all-time favourite City goals.
The vermin to me are the blades . The thing is CM , 2 go up automatic and on paper it looks like them or the WS will accompany Norwich . Unfortunately for us older City fans we lose one way or another . Perfect storm for us would be 9 wins on the trot with home wins against gobby Bristol and Wilder's vermin .
Put it this way, would we see more 'East Yorhshire Whites or 'Blades' flaunting it around Hull and EY? I'd much rather have Sheff Utd go up any day. And I lived thru the 70s to 90's too. No contest.
Would definitely rather see Sheff Utd go up than TWS, but I wasn't around in the 80s so I don't have the same experience of Sheff Utd as a lot of fans do. Also, as my old man is a Leeds fan, seeing them fail will always take priority.
Imagine you're walking down Boothferry Road on your own or with a couple of mates. You get jumped from behind by a numerically much larger group of males who laugh as they do it chanting 'SRA we're Shoreham's Republican Army we're barmy" in some weird Brian Glover type dialect. Na na na na, he's a blade and he's a blade. The lowest of the low.,
Like having to choose between having a testicle removed painfully with a rusty knife, your TWS or your Pigblade? Even though I've been bricked at the Pigblade's back in the 80's I'd still choose TWS to fail ...
We were right above old man Allam, he didnt seem too impressed with my 'waving' at him. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Obviously the best outcome would be WBA to sneak past them both but it won’t happen. My dislike of the blunts is far greater than my dislike of TWS but on the occasion I’d prefer them to go up over TWS as they are more likely to come straight back down. It’d also be fun to watch TWS’s touchy support go into meltdown when they’re knocked out by BC, Villa or us the playoffs.
And talking of FA cup semi finals Watford get a penalty in the 93rd minute to make it 2 - 2 against Wolves.
