Match day.. .I have 3 Liverpool fans in my office and I'm really really really hoping Saints can put a massive dent in their title challenge. Fingers crossed and all that stuff but if we can keep it tight at the back I reckon we could nick a point or 3...
With the way Liverpool play and the attacking players they have, I'm not sure Vesty is a good option for this game anyway. Controversial opinion but I'd start Stephens.
I think he's fine as part of a 3 and would worry about Jack's lack of positioning sense against their movement.
Operation: **** the Scousers begins today. Let's ****ing do this!!! Just half a day of work to get through today ... but for once my office will be behind saints as no one wants Liverpool to win the title
It's a toss up, Jack hasn't been great this season. But has performed well alongside Yoshi in the past (against Liverpool too). I'd be concerned about the pace of Liverpools front 3 against somebody as slow as Vesty. Whoever plays will need to have a good game, and will need protection. Important that Romeu avoids an early yellow! Can't see us keeping a clean sheet, but can also see us causing them problems with the energy of our midfield. Fingers crossed we can do enough to take something from the game. Would be delighted with a point.
Allison has a blunder in him - he hasn`t had one for a while, so tonight`s the night. A tame pass back by VVD slips under his foot maybe.
**** me that is a surprise. It is us Liverpool are playing then. Well who would have thought that? I have been listening to the wireless all morning where they have been going on and on and on and ****ing on forever creaming their pants over Klopp and Liverpool and never once saying who they were going to play.
Beating Liverpool or even getting a draw requires the same things as for the Spurs game....play well (or better as we were patchy against Spurs) and a huge dollop of things going our way (aka luck). We need to score from any chance we get and we need them to just be a bit off kilter. Ride things out, keep score to nil or one and we have a chance.
Forward mate... Can't you do the same as you did for the second leg of the semi a couple years ago? Get plastered until you fall asleep then wake up for the match
I just mentioned to the Liverpool fans in my office that it would just be typical football if Liverpool feeder team beat Liverpool and de-railed their title bid. They all burst out laughing and said they would be shocked if Pool didn't win by at least 3 as Saints are terrible. I hope we win as the wum possibilities will be glorious. I of course think we will get smashed though, 4-1
Forward, backwards, I get confused. But I'm right in that there is only 7 hours rather than 8 now. Yeah I'll be pretty tipsy by the time it kicks off I would imagine. Gonna go to the pub here (Saints fan owns it). There'll be a load of Liverpool fans no doubt.
