Start wondering whether it might be better if some kindly Norsemen could show up and put a firm hand on the tiller for a while.
I am a big fan of debate, I love an eloquent and reasoned contretemps and I have been really engaged with the brexit process, but it is a sign of how the arguments have become so divisive and reductive, that I am now just waiting for remain to win the (inevitable) 2nd referendum, so I can go on to forums and type the words "you lost, get over it"
I dunno about you mate, but I wasn’t there, so I’m not sure who this “we” is that you refer to . From what I’ve read though, the recovery rate from war, plague and famine wasn’t that great.
I was pointing out that I voted for Alan Whitehead rather than for Labour. Who are led by a leaver. Vin
No. For a bloke happy to poo-poo opinion polls you're wearily happy to quote them when they support you. And even by your woeful standards this is an egregious misrepresentation. I presume when they posted it on the ERGhome website you didn't look any further before posting it. Here's the truth about those numbers. Read and you may learn something from outside your echo chamber. Bet you won't read this on ERGhome or Guido Fawkes or Breitbart. Vin

You posted before reading my following posts.........which I am probably doing as well now I did state it was just England and Wales. I did detail the whole picture in later posts. The comment was focused on England and Wales but the whole UK picture from same poll was still the same......for that particular binary question.
I think it is hilarious just how much Rees-Mogg's mask has slipped and he has shown his true colours over this last month. He hasn't got a hope in hell of leading the Tories now (unless a tiny far right splinter group breaks away).
It just seems like at this point the level of delusion is off-the-charts-crazy. It's like a new public embarrassment of greed, incompetence, power-tripping, and general dysfunction every hour. And yet, people are still like "Yeah, we totally got this. We're totally capable of standing on our own and working out international agreements. The problem this whole time has been the EU." It's never been more obvious how ill-equipped you are to handle things without help, and yet it just seems to make the leavers more determined to go. Look, forget about the hypothetical advantages of leaving the EU. The reality is, you do not currently have the leadership to figure out how to split a bar tab much less negotiate a trade agreement. You can't even figure out how to get out of the one you're already in! You want to take a bold stand and have the freedom to dictate your own policies... and these are the people you want in charge to do it? Really? You're arguing about which supermodel you're going to date when you don't even have the guts to break up with your current girlfriend.
The Bubonic Plaque originated in Asia and is thought to have been brought to the UK through the port of Weymouth in 1347. Historians disagree but approximately 50% of the population of 6 million died. Very few deaths were recorded of the British upper class and it was naturally the peasants living in close quarters and squalid conditions that perished. This was a boon for the survivors because now their Labour was so much more valuable and terms like living wage were bandied about. Of course, it was during this time that Ethelred the Rees Mogg had to marry his sister and the resultant progeny were protected and raised in the highest room of his castle for 600 years. It was only in the 1970s that they were given permission to venture out among the unwashed with the mission to prevent another invasion from foreign shores when those uppity peasants had just gone too far. It was only a few decades later when they realised there were only 35 of them left and they were all twats!
