Another Aintree Thursday and another one of our Dad and Lads traditional days out.
For me it’s always been the best of the three days racing and you can get a drink as and when you want one without the “aggro”

La Bague Au Roi surely a good thing being fresh after missing Chelters in the first?
BVD wins if completing, thought the price would be shorter than on offer.

Looking forward to it, going to be a bit cold but a few beers will warm me up. My bets are going to be.
1.45 La Bague Au Roi (around 7/4 is good price for me)
    2.20 Pentland Hills
    2.50 Kemboy
    3.25 BVD
    4.05 Sir Jack Yeats ew
    4.40 Lady Buttons
    5.15 The Glancing Queen
Good luck all, here’s to a great day :emoticon-0167-beer:

Looked at LB but think a hard season will make this tough.

Aintree a most enjoyable day out. Not going this year as off walking in and around Keswick. Enjoy your day chaps and good luck to Janabelle and Portland Hills. A couple of ew fancies for me in the Red Rum Handicap Molineaux 33/1 and Cracking Find @ 25/1. Good luck all.

Evening all, looking forward to a good few days!

Am torn between LB and Kalashnikov st the prices probably Kalashnikov for me plus have been waiting for him to step up in trip all season

I see Fakir has been smashed in was 6/1 last nite now 7/2 howver Band Of Outlaws for me! Future champion hurdler imo!

Kemboy comes here fresher than most and the flat track will suit

Would love to see The Machine bolt up but BVD will be hard to beat- Melon wouldn’t get the trip in the back of a horse box!! At a big price for the places Summerville boy easy to forgive his runs this year and looked high class last season

No big fancy in the fox hunters but do kind of like Burning Ambition

Azzuri- very well treated had a wind op and I do like a Skelton horse in A big handicap with a wind op and a bigger price Forest Bihan ew win here in a g1 2017 good 4th at Cheltenham will like the ground and track is overpriced

Good luck all have a good week <ok>

    Morning

In the Hunters chase [4.05] think Road To Rome will take a lot of beating

Win bet at 7-2 [Bet 365]

Morning all...mainly a watching brief for me today and I am most interested to see how buveur D'Air gets on. Just the one bet for me..until the big one on Saturday:

4.05pm Burning Ambition 11/2 each way

Good luck all and have a great day for those attending.

Gone against you in that one G1 with Burning Ambition. Good luck though...I read a bullish report about Road to Rome with either trainer or jockey (can't recall) saying if he stays up he wins..that s a statement and a half that!

Quick run through the Aintree races:

1.45 I hope Glen Forsa can gain compensation for his Arkle fall but the mare is an absolute superstar and will be difficult to beat.
2.20 I'm with Tom Segal in thinking Band of Outlaws is an absolute monster and he should take this. Christopher Wood interesting e/w.
2.50 Pleny of question marks but I am hoping Bristol De Mai can make it third time lucky in the race.
3.25 Buveur D'Air has everything in his favour but is a poor price so Verdana Blue e/w.
4.05 Kruzhlinin seems to be enjoying life with Gordon Elliot, winning his last 4 points.
4.40 Hopefully Forest Bihan is over his Cheltenham exertions and can run into a place at least.
5.15 The Glancing Queen sets the standard having run very well against the boys at Cheltenham but I hope Who What When can make the drive back to Kent a memorable one for Murty McGrath.

Morning, crew. I think those bookie chappies have got the first 4 races about right and I’m pretty clueless re the concluding trio of heats so will today be waving the old ‘no bet’ banner. Really looking forward to tomorrow though where punting opportunities could be aplenty, I say aplenty (and not just at Aintree either)!

Good luck to those attending and don’t forget (i) to salute the Lieutenant and (ii) to give a hearty wave to the forum’s favourite Corinthian. Splendid!

Buveur Dair would have won the Champion Hurdle, he has one more shot as a 9yo and doesnt look like any of the novices are up to it.

On at 8/1 before he runs today.

The market has the 6.00 Chelmsford a 2 horse race between Godolphins Diamond Oasis and Charltons Yimkin, neither of these fillies are particularly fast and they both carry penalties so ive had a look for something against them.

Charltons second string Mystiquestar 33/1 looked a nice type and shaped well enough down the field after a slow start, she needed the experience and should be much sharper now. Her dam had form on the AW, 2 hd 2nds and 1 win from 3 starts at around 1m, her other two aw runs were tailed off at middle distance. Her sire Sea The Stars has a good record at the course and distance with 4 wins from 14 runners. Charlton has a 20% strikerate in first time hood and 100% from 2 runners at this track, one of them a 16/1 shot 3yo debut in a fillies maiden who finished 2nd last on only 2yo run.

With 8 runners I think this is a decent e/w bet and I wouldnt be shocked if the top 2 got turned over for all they set a clear standard on achieved form in a weak looking race.

Silver streak will be running on for a place in the betfair no 100/1 about him today. Verdana blue has been expensive to follow but like Oddy I think today is the day.
