    He had many positive qualities and some less applaudable qualities. No doubt performed a great and important job as a leader of the civil Rights movement and the US is a much better place because of him (and others in that same movement).

    I didn't know him so it wasn't much of a loss personally but he is considered a great man for championing equal rights in America.

    Not sure why people are making jokes about the anniversary of his death .

    They probably think they are edgy.
