Why do people feel the need to get up and go home when there are about seven minuets of play left including added time. The game is drawing to a very exciting climax when they decide to pick up there flasks and tartan blankets and disrupt all the real football fans and go home. Everyone stands up to let these fools out causing havoc to all and sundry . They moan about the cost of tickets and on average miss five mins of every game add those mins up and they probably miss two games a season very often the most crucial period of the games. 'oh we like to miss the traffic' they moan. Well why dont they put them in one corner and they can all piss off at the same time and llet us all watch the game in its entirety in peace<<steam>rant over

I agree entirely with everything you've just said. The worst thing is when something interesting happens and they think they have the right to stop infront of you and watch it!

There were large numbers of "fans" going to the concourse today on 36 minutes !!

In my experience, leaving for the concourse just after the half time whistle gives plenty of time for queue and beer, provided you don't drink too slowly.

Did the ones near you then come back? Mine went down at 35 minutes and came back up just in time for the half time whistle!? This makes almost NO sense?!

Yeh bloody tell me about it,a few fans need to get a last train home or have prior engagements to attend to but surely not all the fans that leave have to get places? it irritates the hell out of me and i also don't think it's good for the team to see people leaving early, i know it would put me off a bit if i was a player!

I think it might be dishearting for the players to see so many fans walk out, maybe thats why some teams fall apart then in the last 5 minutes. Equally the players should be proffesional and get on with it.

its not just the flask and tartan blanket brigade leaving early - mostly younger/middle aged fans up and leaving with the outcome of the match finely balanced. travelling 140 miles to get there i am not going to miss a second and rather sit in traffic for 45mins later than leave the ground without knowing the result. Bizarre

We get an impromptu Mexican Wave just before half time in the Kingsland, some going for a Bovril, but most with weak bladders, I have sympathy for them.

  10. Self-important twats who think they have got somewhere more important to be. Get some bloody perspective, you're at a football match supporting your team - sit there and sodding watch it!

I always make a point of getting everything I want/need in terms of food/programme/drink before the game.

If I want something else, I don't go during the halves. I go before/half-time/after.

How you can willingly miss a game I do not know!

I travel down to SMS, and I have to leave at 8am and usually get back at 9pm.

By the way we won today, time to be cheerful, not griping about others surely?

Look, everytime I go for a slash we score, so what do you suggest I do during the game?

Agree. Why do people go early for a beer 5 min before half-time? Don't they sell beer anywhere else but St Mary's? They often return late and therefore miss at least 5-10 min of the game.

I clocked that on 36 mins too. They knew we'd be poor in last 9 mins of half.

Amazes me because statistically so many god are scored in that period.

I really don't appreciate the early end of game leavers; they must miss the best bits in so many films at the cinema!

Richisonthebus: why not dress you and your cronies up in nazi uniforms and patrol the stands to stop people leaving? Sounds like you would enjoy that.

I have always found the habits of some fans absolutely baffling. When I used to be able to go to watch Saints regularly, I watched, shouted and cheered from the first minute until the last. There was no going to get a pie or a drink, if there was a danger that I might miss a bit of action. Yes, I'd hold onto going to the toilet until HT. Admittedly, when the final whistle blew, I'd be out of there, double quick, but I have never, ever gone home early, or been downstairs while play is going on. After all, what's the point of being there..?

Yes, having paid for your ticket, it is up to you what you do with your time. But wouldn't it be better if you just sat in the pub, which is where you'd obviously rather be..?

i managed to go to the forest game. I suffer from social anxiety, depressed etc. . Large crowds and many other things to do with being outside bring on my anxiety attacks.
I manage to pluck up the strength of feeling sick etc for nearly all the 90mins. But i arrive late and leave about 5mins before the end to miss the mad rush. As it wouldnt help my condition so im afraid im one of them fans that leave early.

It leaves me mentally weak and exhausted just holding my anxiety for 10mins let alone 90 mins. Forest was my first and last of this season as i find it to draining . But ill be there in mind.
