Nor can I unfortunately and as much as Ralph has improved us defensively there's only so much he can do with the same players. I suspect we'll revert to a back 3 on Friday btw but as Vestergaard is injured it will probably be Stephens who comes in sadly
Stephen is absolute pants sorry. yoshida v salah for pace? also if he does he's not watch how spurs got destroyed out wide playing 3 at back.
No need to apologise I agree and our defenders aren't good enough to play with two CB's against the big clubs imo.
yeah but we have 3 wide.men up front and two attacking full backs so if your full backs go forward at all you will be boned. if you play 3 at back you still need 3 in middle as all that happened to spurs is eriksen and sissoko were out manned by our awful midifeld
That's cos poch got on the blower and changed tactics to flood midfield but mostly our lot stopped playing... just lumped it at salah mostly.
Nah, Lallana gave you more than enough over the years to justify his move up. VVD suffered because of Liverpool's ****-up; Saints rightly dug in purely on principle but VVD (and Saints as result) got **** on. Should have sold him anyway.

just my opinion but the stance of Southampton then has led to where they are now. they played stephens once vvd.left and spent the year without decent cbs nd were very nearly relegated. ended up with Hughes etc. I'm sure it's more complicated than that of course. but 75mil in June thst year to buy decent players and they could have kicked on. as it stands I think they will improve next year with current manager. I like his style.
We’ve been scraping wins recently. We’re not clicking totally so would really like this game to be a comfortable win please I’m not holding my breath.
first 20 mins are key. if we start off quickly and get a quick couple of goals it should be relatively comfortable, or we will end up getting nervous and start taking long shots. are saints desperate for points, or just try harder as they hate us
I know what you mean but the point is that the tighter and more nervy it is, the more likely a poor result. So while I’d also settle for a scrappy win, I still would very much prefer a very comfortable one
