John Carew for me, but special mention for Pennant, thought his delivery today, particularly in the 2nd half was very good.

I would have voted for Matty had his name been there. . . Most of our our forward moves were through him, kept on snatching the ball from Sunderland players and breaking forward for us. Pennant and Carew joint second

No worries Sarge, got my mention in anyway
We're by far a better team with BOTH Etherington and Pennant playing.

Agreed mate. To be perfectly honest mate, I thought Matty was a bit hit and miss today. He made some silly unforced errors but he was a LOT better in the last 20 minutes in my opinion. Pennant was awesome, his delivery is so much better than Matty's, he puts much more pace on it which is the hardest to defend.

Yeah, Pennant was brilliant. I know what you mean about Matty, was a bit off on his usual game, didn't get any really good deliveries, but was really good at winning the ball and getting the move going. Just a shame he didn't get any really good crosses in.
I was impressed with Carew too, but everytime I see Jones play I like him less and less. I was a fan of his when I only got to see the few clips on MOTD. I might be wrong, but the first header I remember him winning was after about 30 minutes.

Carew for me with Pennant close second. Best game JP has had for some considerable time.

    Bego followed by Carew

That was the best we played Pulisball for a while, still need two strong enforcers in the middle to play this brand effectively and consistantly

Although I agree with you to an extent I thought Rory and Deano were pretty effective today, just my opinion mind.

Deano was strong and reliable as always, and Delap even had a decent shot! I like Rory, but it ain't often you can say that about him!

Indeed. I do have a soft spot for Deano as InvernessStokie would definitely tell you :emoticon-0102-bigsm, massive fan of his. I loved that shot from Rory, it was travelling at lightning speed and looked like it was going in until it nearly decapitated Bardsley :emoticon-0110-tongu

For me Carew I was really impressed with his effort, all round play and I would have voted for him. But, PENNANT for me, that was a brilliant display last weekend. Contrary to most oppinions. I actually thought that Etheringtone, especially 2nd half was fantastic. Good team effort let's have more like it please.
