Not an awful lot to play for tomorrow ? Play Offs guaranteed - it should be a comfortable win against the League 2 bound Bradford.
A home banker. I expect boots to be filled and a good day had by all (except the away fans) Up the Addicks!
Lardi minus bitterness, negativity, spite and arguing for argument's sake (in short, minus the bollocks) Much more relaxed and content with life in general
Djiksteel in for Solly (bench) and Vetekole starts. Looking like a poor attendance this afternoon- the stadium is very empty.
Yeh couldn’t be bothered myself, will go Luton game but that’ll probably be last match before playoffs
A functional, scrappy win against a very poor Bradford side. Taylor should have had a hat trick, and once again had no help from Vetekole. None of our players performed above a 6/10 today. Cullen the possible MOM, but with Williams & Reeves both poor alongside him. Aribo has his quietest game for some time. That we are so comfortably in the Play Offs says far more for the dire standards of our opponents than any virtue in our team. I don’t think we are going up this season.
I think we can go up, not because we’re that good, but because the other candidates aren’t that good either
Bowyer On Igor Vetokele… “That’s the best Igor has played since I’ve been in charge. He looked sharper, he looked fitter. It didn’t quite fall for him today but he looked very good today.” I was still on my boycott yesterday, was it the best game Vets has played in 12 months?
No, he was useless. A complete passenger. Lyle Taylor looks very frustrated with him. He is miles off the pace.
Fair play to the Bradford City fans yesterday. A long journey & bottom of the league, but they brought decent numbers (700 ?) The attendance was around 9,000.
I guess three points is what we wanted at the end of the day. The overall view is that we were slow and lethargic. Not the reaction I would have hoped for after a two week lay off, you'd hope the players would come back with energy and spark. Essentially we have the opportunity still to go fourth and secure homa advantage in the return play off semi. I'm hoping we can put together the sort of run in we had all those years ago when we went to Wembley and beat Sunderland on pens. But deep down, it feels a lot more like last season where we failed to turn up against Rochdale and lost out against Shrewsbury. I would imagine none of us want to see the team burn out chasing wins that are no longer as vital as they were. But if we see out the season on autopilot, I don't see the play offs being much more successfull than last year.
Don't worry - I doubt too many teams in the pack are worrying about meeting Charlton in the play offs right now - with the possible exception of Portsmouth!
