Cor blimey in arguably the biggest transfer in horse racing history I see that Tiger Roll has left the yard of Gord Elliott and is, right now, on his way to the barn of Lieutenant Henderson, the forum’s favourite trainer. Seven Barrows is where the horse will be stabled from now on. Explaining the switch owner Michael O’Leary stated, ‘I wanted to tap into Nicky’s tremendous record in the Grand National. He’s been trained well, very well, in the past but I wanted to take his potential to the next level and felt there was only one man capable of doing this. Many people have said that I should be in an instution but Nicky is a National Instition and I think that grand.’ Lieutenant Henderson apparently only learnt of the switch yesterday afternoon in a phone call from Mr O’Leary. Taking up the story the forum’s favourite explains, ‘I was asked if I’d take Tiger Roll and for a few moments thought someone was offering me a new sort of exotic sandwich. But no Michael O’Leary wants me to train his horse. I believe he feels he owes me after three times now the trolley dolly, on one of his flights, has given me only a double when I asked for a treble GnT.’ Bookie chappie reaction has been to cut Tiger Roll from 7/2 to 7/4 for Saturday’s big race. What do we think then, team, re the switch??? In Lieutenant Henderson’s ‘magic hands’ surely Tiger Roll will become a double, treble or even quadruple Grand National winner. Exciting news.
Legendary jockey A.P. McCoy is coming out of retirement to ride him in the big one. I'm sure that news will see his price contract even further. As everyone on the forum knows, there is no better assistance from the saddle
Told my missus earlier on that Bayern Munich were negotiating a Summer transfer deal with Juventus for Ronaldo in exchange for Lewandowski and cash (a lot); she is still pretty pissed-off with me.
I once did a spoof article, on the forum, about how the racehorse Chippenham came to be monikered Chippenham and got accused several months later by someone of them not realising that I’d made it up and that I therefore had misled everyone (although I tend to think they themselves were making this up). So, as a chav might say, whatever and let me now announce following a fanfare ‘APRIL FOOL!’ Tiger Roll remains with Gord Elliott but just imagine it, team, had he been transfered to Seven Barrows…
Yep TR would have been doing the Hokey Cokey these last few weeks whilst NH invented ailments. TR is a clever little horse too and on hearing of NH's appalling record in this race, and indeed any race over 3.5 miles, would have doubtless refused to be loaded on the horse box. Good April Fool though SBC. Obviously a slow day at the coal face.
