When I meet fans of other clubs, and tell them I support Saints, they almost invariably say they quite like, or certainly don't dislike, my club (unless they're from Portsmouth). I have known for years that this is because we are mostly not very good, and no threat to anybody. I'd prefer to be hated tbh, like Man Utd are. Interesting that Chavs top the poll though, not the Mancs.
And because you had Le Tiss playing for you. Nobody hates Le Tiss, not even me. He's a gent and a genuinely nice bloke. It's revolting ffs!
Le tiss was a poor mans Mahrez Oh and the correct answer is the horse punching, dog ****ing, fat sweaty Orcs from NE1.
It was absolutely amazing mate. I was about 2/3 way up between half way line and goal - lucked out as it was a great view. The best game I've ever seen live and top 5 I've watched full stop. First half you guys all over us and scored a nice freekick but crucially only got 1 goal. If it was 2-0 at the break you win it. Second half all Portsmouth and the noise was incredible - your lot must have been biting your nails and I thought the goal wouldn't come with all the chances - hit the post etc. Then it did! Absolute bedlam! Extra time first half all Pompey again. Second half extra time bit more even but Pompey score and that's the end of it. But then Sunderland equalise with 1 minute to go. ****ing savage time to have an equalising goal go against you! On to penalties! Cattermole had his saved on your second spot kick and we scored 5/5 to win 5/4. I mean penalties is a brutal way to lose but either way it was a mental game and incredibly entertaining! Maybe in hindsight best not to go but you would have enjoyed the occasion - record attendance. Massive drama.
Over 85k there, They all seemed to enjoy it, despite the result. I was in 2 minds, But just not been into this trophy at all. League1 clubs setting the bar.
