Imagine if McLaughlin said he didn't fancy the shootout and some poor twat outfielder had to pull the gloves on and face the music. I understand the pressure but if a CF won't take a pen there's something wrong imo, something I've always thought.
I'd wait until we reach the Championship, at least. The standard down here is terrible, big difference in the top two leagues. If you let me know when you're coming, I'll sort the tickets out and whatever else you need. Is your boy still playing over there?
It might not happen, yet. I've always been dubious about it. The EU have form for bullying countries into another vote and we could well be following, France, Denmark and Ireland, with that one... I know stacks of business owners around me and we talk about it a lot. I don't know a single one who is in the least bit concerned about a no-deal Brexit.
I get the sentiments and I don't see why it's much difference really. If he can't beat a keeper from a one on one situation, from 12 yards out, when the keeper is static, he shouldn't be a forward...
Strange Cattermole the only player from the 2014 final misses the pen, but he has been vital for us this season, why did Wyke not take one ?, anyhow this should make them stronger for the rest of the season like 1998 but we have a bogey team now to worry about.
Yes, he's still playing. To get into the top colleges, you need something else, to go along with the grades - we're hoping that might be the football.
Great first half but after 55 minutes, it was crying out for Wyke to come on and help Grigg out, who looks poor to me by the way, JR does not impress either with his substitutions and when he finally got round to making one it was so poor it lost us the game. Barnsley, not Portsmouth were the real winners to-day, on the bright side it was good to see Denver back in the side, the boy has real class.
You'd be happy with Boris Johnson, Rees-Mogg running the show, then? It is the Brexit mob who are the real bullies, not the EU. It is the Brexit mob who are threatening to tear the walls of Parliament down if they don't get their selfish way. Anyway, shouldn't Sunderland be pro/EU and anti-UKIP and the Tories?
Play/offs then? Looking at the contenders, Charlton have done next to nothing all season, so perhaps their season Will start at that point. Donny are running into form. As for you and Pompey who knows?
Probably and with our Wembley record, I for one am not looking forward to them with any great confidence, but we live in hope.
It’s often that the pen takers are decided before the game starts. And that only changes if there are injuries and they’ll have a plan b. Might not be that Wyke didn’t want to. May have been that he wasn’t on the list to take on from the gaffer. Only Jack Ross will know
Ross doesn't have a designated taker for regular pens because he thinks whoever wants to take it the most should get it, so I reckon it's a stick on he has the same policy for shootouts.
Who was the guy you sold in the Jamuary transfer window? Are you guys still in mourning over his sale? Judging by your team's results it seems so, as prior to his departure you were looking nailed on to go top. Your thoughts?
Our goal scoring ratio has gone up since he left. We are also closer to the automatic positions now. Next
So, the League 1 playoff final is at Wembley? - if the table remains the same as it is now, we're looking at a rematch. Won't that be somethin'. 65% possession in the first half. Honeyman is actually a good player when he runs. We should pitch in and buy him a treadmill. He went back to jogging in the second half and effectively disappeared. Is O9 a championship fullback, a championship midfielder? Thought he did great until Curtis went off, not so sure about afterwards. He seemed uninterested in shifting towards the widest threat when his side was overloaded. The commentator said Hume was the fastest player at the club, faster than Watmore, that's pretty fast. A weapon for sure. But James has been pretty solid, tough choice that one.
