The club is actually bouncing. Compared to previous seasons everyone is enjoying themselves regardless of winning or losing. We really don't need any sympathy. It's now up to Evans whether to stick or twist in the summer.
I still feel sympathy for them to be honest. They still have to look at those godawful yellow shirts every week and getting into the top flight is as good as it ever gets for them.
Which is a lot better than its going to get for you for a long, long time mate, centuries probably!otbc
It’s also up to Evans to show a bit of leadership and invest in his playing squad to help ensure a quick return to the Championship. We can’t afford to pussyfoot around in the third division, we don’t have that luxury as we are allowed one “parachute payment” esque season in League One and then we’d have to start cutting back. On a wider basis at the club, there are people’s jobs and livelihoods on the line. Let’s go for it and build a team that can get straight back up. We’ve got a few good players and a strong foundation. Revamp the strike force, add a couple of defenders, retain Bart, and sort out the defensive midfield and we’ve got a chance of going straight back up. Doing it on a budget and reverting to our academy lads, who are generally overrated may spell trouble and stagnation. Evans, own your mistakes (and they are very much his mistakes) and show some ambition for a change.
Have you still got the bus you used to celebrate the anniversary of your FA Cup semi final loss in 1959 Dave ? Just asking.
Sounds to me after the press conference that Lambo gave after the gane that he might not be here next season! There's a rumour going round that Evans has found a buyer for the club hence the uncertaintity surrounding Lamberts future. It's time now fir Evans to finally show some leadership and clarify once and for all to us fans just what the heck is going on!
And for God’s sake, get some leadership in this team! Chambers and Skuse are not cutting it this season, got one complacent eye on their inevitable coaching career here! And the fact they’re getting too old and their performances have not been consistent or good enough for months. I hope we bring some experience and vocal authority in over the summer, heads go down easily in this team and nobody seems capable of firing them up.
Now that would be the best most joyful news for years! Might even knock staying in Europe off the top spot! Evans out, clean out the cupboard of useless directors, but I for one like Lambert, and if possible I would as prospective new owner have a damn good chat, ask him what he thinks is wrong with the club, and offer him the job & dosh to kick start our club.
ME selling up would certainly be a silver lining to this cloudiest of Seasons, not going to get my hopes up yet though.
