See, while everyone is arguing about merieles, I think if anyone we lost over the transfer window would have made a difference, it would have been aqua man. Merieles was too hit or miss for me, goals came all at once last season. Aqua man was consistently a difference maker, and creates chances almost every touch of the ball. Alex, if you do want to talk about mistakes, I would say letting aqualani out on a loan was a far bigger mistake. If your going to let him leave, you should at least get money for him. He was far too skilled to loan away.

You don't count the cards, you count the fouls. 25 fouls in total, no cards shown for them. Now, show me another game that has seen 25 fouls go unpunished. Besides which, it's not all about tackles. There's plenty goes on in the box that doesn't count as a 'tough tackle', but can you see Meireles outmuscling his marker to get his head to a ball?
