Finally! Am busy doing some carpentry and some cooking today but it's match day at last. Still confident.
For me it largely comes down to Ings. If we decide that he isn't quite fit enough to start, then I would have no problems with Sims from the start. I really don't want Charlie starting. Two league goals all season (and both of them coming off the bench) is an awful return for someone who literally only offers us sticking the ball in the net. So if he's not doing that, what on earth is the point of him? The difference in that Spurs game between 45 minutes of Charlie lightly jogging side to side, and 45 minutes of Sims running around and stretching the defence, was enormous. (It's why, for all Long's immense faults, I would still play him ahead of Charlie - obviously not an option today though.) That's not to say that Charlie couldn't bang in a couple of goals today. His career clearly shows he's capable. But the signs so far this season would suggest it's unlikely. Redmond supporting Ings would be best today. But if not, then Sims supporting Redmond is my next alternative.
