Always wanted to live and travel on the wonderful canals in England. Seems idyllic.

Just like The Travelling Man TV series, anyone remember it?

Standing on that landing craft on our way to Juno beach. Trying to hide the shake in my hand from the men.

    Good times.

Nah, if I watched the Travelling Man now I'd probably think what a pile of doggy doings but that's time for you!

Leigh Lawson I seem to recall.

It was the summer of 98, a glorious afternoon. Me, Fred Dibnah (or Dibs), Tim (the bull) West and Prunella (Nelly) Scales bought an eighth of the goodness and bundled into a little cabin boat.

Starting in Leeds we headed down along the canal to Liverpool, Dibs skinning up with the sun and a smile upon his iridescent face. When reached Foulridge, I switched off the engine and Dibs taught me how to push the boat through the tunnels with nothing but my feet up against the ancient brickwork and the muscles in my arse. Eventually we were mooring up at the first of what would become 156 locks along the way. Waiting for the water to rise, the bull pulled out a key and began snorting it off Dibs's tits. Unfortunately, I had to make do with Nelly but it brought us closer together. As I buried my face in the mountain of coke between her plump (and they were) heaving breasts, all I could hear was Nelly groaning "ooh I know, I know.... ooh I know". A memory that will live with me forever.

A picture of Dibs telling me we were going the wrong way...

The sinking of the The General Belgrano has to be one of the happiest Seafaring memories in my lifetime.

Fun Fact: Before being renamed The General Belgrano, it was called USS Phoenix and was the only ship undamaged at Pearl Harbour. The Argies bought it from the Yanks probably thinking it was lucky.

    How wrong were they? <laugh><laugh><party>

The time I did the tea race on the Cutty Sark.

    What larks.

I saw the Golden rivet, and took my turn in the barrel.

A mate of mine's brother owned a boat hire company on the Norfolk Broads. In the late 60's he had a hire to a very well known pop star, a famous bachelor boy. This guy took a party of young lads up the muddy creeks for a week, purely out of the goodness of his heart mind.
